Defect: CERTAIN TRAVEL TRAILERS AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH NORCOLD REFRIGERATOR COOLING UNITS. THESE REFRIGERATORS CAN EXPERIENCE A BREAK DOWN IN A RUBBER SEAL WITHIN THE GAS VALVE. AS THE RUBBER SEAL AGES, A LEAK MAY OCCUR, ALLOWING PROPANE GAS TO ACCUMULATE IN THE BURNER AREA.

Consequence: THE CONSEQUENCE CAN RESULT IN A FIRE, POSSIBLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

WESTBOUND INTERSTATE 40 AND 98 MILE MARKER, MOTORHOME ENGINE QUIT GOING @ 60 MPH. HAD TO BE TOWED INTO BARSTOW. ENGINE HAD 55,000 MILES ON IT. ENGINE FAILURE, ACCORDING TO MECHANICS, WAS COOLANT IN THE OIL WHICH LEAD TO THE ENGINE LOCKING UP. OIL WAS CHECKED BEFORE TRIP STARTED AND WAS FINE.
