Recall 13V449000 — SERVICE BRAKES
| 208,966 vehicles affected
Defect: Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2004-2013 GSX-R600 and GSX-R750, and model year 2005-2013 GSX-R1000 motorcycles. In combination with older brake fluid, corrosion of the brake piston inside of the front brake master cylinder generates gas that may result in a reduction of fluid pressure transmission to the front brake.
Consequence: As a result, front braking power may be reduced increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front brake master cylinder, free of charge. The recall began on November 18, 2013. Owners may contact Suzuki at 1-800-572-1490. Suzuki's campaign numbers for this recall are: 2A (31, 32, 33,...

| 13,398 vehicles affected
Defect: ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, EACH TIME THE IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED OFF, THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) PRE-SETS THE POSITION OF THE IDLE SPEED CONTROL (ISC) VALVE FOR SUBSEQUENT ENGINE STARTING BY OPENING THE VALVE COMPLETELY AND THEN CLOSING IT TO A START-UP POSITION.
Consequence: DUE TO IMPROPER SHAPE OF THE INTERNAL MECHANISM THAT MOVES THE ISC VALVE, THE VALVE MAY REMAIN IN THE OPEN POSITION INSTEAD OF MOVING TO THE CORRECT START-UP POSITION. THIS CAN RESULT IN NO-LOAD ENGINE IDLE SPEEDS AS HIGH AS 5000 RPM THE NEXT TIME THE ENGINE IS STARTED. IF THE RIDER CHOOSES TO OPERATE THE MOTORCYCLE IN THIS CONDITION, THE RIDER MAY HAVE DIFFICULTY OPERATING THE MOTORCYCLE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ISC VALVE WITH AN IMPROVED PART, AND WILL ALSO REPLACE THE ECM. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 22, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUZUKI AT 1-714-572-1490.

while traveling at 55mph and just exiting a corner my front brake without any warning and instantly locked up sending me and my bike to the highway in A Skid. there is a known problem with using aftermarket levers after the recalled master cylinder has been changed.this problem poses a serious risk to many if not addressed and remedied. there was a police report that does not reflect what actually happened at all. I did over the winter service my bike adding new levers. related info can be obtained online.
SUZUKI WILL NOT PERFORM THE RECALL ON MY BRAKE FOR THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE BIKE HAS NO FRONT BRAKES AND THEY WILL NOT SEND ME THE NEW PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR. THEY ARE TELLING I MUST PAY TO GET IT TOWED TO A DEALER 2 HRS FROM MY HOUSE TO GET IT REPAIRED. IF THEY WON'T PAY FOR THE TOW THEN THEY NEED TO SEND ME THE PART SO I CAN COMPLETE THE REPAIR MYSELF.
FRONT BRAKES ARE NOT STOPPING THE BIKE INSTEAD IT BECOMES JUMPY FROM THE TRIPLE TREE. IT HAPPENS WHEN EVER COMING FROM A STOP OF 10 MPH
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SUZUKI GSX-R 1000. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DURING WINTER AND FALL MONTHS THE CLUTCH BECAME INOPERABLE. THE DEALER MADE THREE ATTEMPTS TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,524. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1200.
FOR SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN #2098 FROM SUZUKI MOTORCYCLE MODEL 2007 GSX-R1000. IDLE SPEED CONTROL VALVE REPLACEMENT KIT INCLUDES: ISC VALVE SET AND ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE. THE ECM HAS TWO WIRING HARNESSES THAT PLUG INTO IT, AND IF THE DEALER DOESN'T USE DIELECTRIC GREASE WHEN THEY REPLACE THE ECM, CORROSION CAN OCCUR, CAUSING PINS TO BREAK OFF, AND ENGINE UNEXPECTEDLY SHUT OFF IN OPERATION. *TR
