TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1983 SUZUKI MOTORCYCLE EQUIPPED WITH A SHORAI LITHIUM ION BATTERY (NA), MODEL NUMBER: LFX14L2-BS12. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE BATTERY CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SMOTHER AND EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE BATTERY WAS FORWARDED TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR TESTING. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,624.
