Consequence: IN A SUDDEN STOP OR ACCIDENT, THE FAILURE OF THE SEATBASE AND THE SUBSEQUENT FAILURES OF THE SAFETY BELT ANCHORAGES MAY CAUSE SEATSTO NOT PROPERLY RESTRAIN OCCUPANTS, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.
Remedy: CHANGE THE WELD PATTERN OF THE SEAT PEDESTALS.

Defect: SEAT PEDESTALS ON MIDSHIP SEATS WERE IMPROPERLY WELDED; THIS FAILURE OF THE SEAT BASE ADDS TO THE LOAD ON THE SAFETY BELT ANCHORAGE, WHICH IN TURN CAUSES A FAILURE TO MEET THE FMVSS 210 STANDARDS.
Consequence: SEAT FAILURES CAUSE THE SAFETY BELTS TO NOT PROPERLYRESTRAIN OCCUPANTS IN A SUDDEN STOP OR ACCIDENT, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.
