Defect: Forest River Bus, LLC (Forest River) is recalling certain 2010-2020 Starcraft Prodigy, Quest, and 2013 Rondak school buses. The exterior front roof panel was manufactured with inadequate joint strength. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."

Consequence: A school bus roof panel with inadequate joint strength may separate during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will secure the exterior front roof section, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 31, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-348-7440. Forest River's number for this recall is 05-1782.

Defect: Forest River Bus, LLC (Forest River) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Starcraft Allstar MVP, 2016 and 2019 Allstar XL, 2016-2018 Allstar XL MVP, 2009-2010 and 2012-2018 Starcraft MFSAB/Prodigy, 2014-2016 Quest XL, 2013 and 2015-2018 Starcraft MPV/Prodigy, 2009-2010 Prodigy, 2009-2022 Quest, 2011 Quest XL school buses. The restraining barrier may not provide sufficient protection in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail...

Consequence: An insufficient restraining barrier can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Consequence: If the seat foam does not absorb enough impact energy, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Recall 17V780000 — FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL

Defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2017 Starcraft Bus Prodigy, Prodigy LP, and Quest school buses. The screws used to secure the floor in these buses may be too long and can damage the fuel lines underneath.

Consequence: If the fuel lines are damaged from the screws that are too long, fuel may leak and cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the leaking fuel may increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Forest River has notified owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel lines, replacing them as necessary, and will install shorter length screws to secure the floor, free of charge. The recall began on December 14, 2017. Owners may contact Starcraft...
