TAKATA RECALL I BOUGHT A 2006 SAAB 97X N I HAVE PROBLEMS W MY HID LOW BEAMS THE LEFT SIDE JUST WONT LIGHT UP N WEN IM DRIVIN SOMTIMES MY DRIVIN LIGHTS GO ON N OFF WHILE IM ON THE HIGHWAY ! IVE HAD THE BULBS CHANGED TWICE N STILL THE PASSENGER LOW BEAM WONT LIGHT UP !!!

HID HEADLIGHTS FLICKER AND THEN TURN OFF. NO RHYME OR REASON; COLD WEATHER AND HOT WEATHER. HEADLIGHTS WILL EVENTUALLY FLICKER AND TURN OFF. I CAN MANUALLY FLIP THE HEADLIGHTS SWITCH OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN AND THEY WILL COME BACK ON. ONCE THEY COME BACK ON, THEY CAN STAY ON FOR ANOTHER FEW SECONDS OR MINUTES, BUT THEY WILL EVENTUALLY FLICKER AND TURN OFF AGAIN. MOST TIMES IT'S JUST ONE HEADLIGHT AT A TIME BECAUSE I DON'T GIVE IT ENOUGH TIME BEFORE TURNING IT BACK ON BEFORE THE SECOND ONE GOES OUT. BOTH HAVE GONE OUT BEFORE AT THE SAME TIME. IN MY 12 MILE ROUTE TO WORK IN THE MORNING, I MAY HAVE TO TURN MY HEADLIGHTS ON AGAIN ABOUT 25 TIMES AT ITS WORST. SOMETIMES THEY WILL STAY ON AND SOMETIMES IT WON'T EVEN FLICKER AT ALL. NO RHYME OR REASON. IT'S DANGEROUS FOR THE OBVIOUS REASON BUT...

IN MARCH 2014, WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE WARNING BELL SOUNDED, AND AN ENGINE LIGHT (WITH DOWN ARROW) ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER DISPLAYED "STABILITRAK OFF", AND THE CAR IMMEDIATELY SLOWED FROM 45MPH TO 15MPH. THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PASS 25MPH, AND THERE WASN'T EVEN ENOUGH POWER TO CLIMB A SMALL HILL. AFTER DEPLOYING THE HAZARD INDICATOR, AND PULLING OVER, THE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF. UPON WAITING 2-3 MINUTES AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE PROBLEM DID NOT RECUR. SINCE THEN, THE PROBLEM HAS RECURRED AT LEAST 3 DOZEN TIMES, AND IT IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. WHILE DRIVING HOME OUR HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED AND TURNED OFF. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THE HEADLIGHTS CAME BACK ON. ONCE DRIVING AGAIN, THEY FLICKERED AND THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME WITH THE ONE LIGHT (LUCKILY). WHEN I WENT TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT, IT WAS BACK ON AGAIN. I CHECKED ALL CONNECTIONS AND WAS UNABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE. A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER THE STABILA-TRAC SYSTEM LIGHT AND AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WENT OFF (5 MIN PERIOD). A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND WOULD JUMP, WE BROUGHT IT TO THE SAAB DEALER AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE AWD ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ($788). WE REPLACED IT AND THE STEERING AND AWD SYSTEM APPEARED TO WORK FINE. TWO DAYS LATER THE AIRBAG LIGHT AND STABILA-TRAC SYSTEM LIGHT CAME...

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SAAB 9-7X. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, ENGINE DOWN ARROW LIGHT AND STABILITY TRACK LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SLOWED DOWN. THE CONTACT WAS ONLY ABLE TO DRIVE 25-30 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AT AN AUTO PARTS STORE. THE CODE INDICATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST BUT PROGRESSED AND WAS CONSTANT. THE PART FOR REPAIR WAS BACKORDERED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,500.
