WHILE ON VACATION IN NM AND CO, AN ENGINE COOLING FAN ON SAFETY RECALL (OUR EXACT MODEL, MAKE, AND YEAR AND ACCESSORIES) WAS BLOWING FUSES/MALFUNCTIONING - THE RESULT POSSIBLE IS THE SAME THING THAT INITIATED THE RECALL - POSSIBILITY OF FIRE. BLOWN FUSE ALSO CAN RESULT IN LIMP MODE BEING EXECUTED IN A DANGEROUS DRIVING SITUATION, (SLICK ROADS, STEEP MOUNTAINS, CURVES NOT TO MENTION $1000'S OF DOLLARS OF UNNECESSARY REPAIRS BECAUSE IT ALSO FALSELY AFFECTED THE DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND ON HIGHWAY AND SMALLER ROADS - IT HAPPENED OUT OF BLUE EACH TIME THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT SHOWS SAME COOLING FAN RECALLED - DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE SAYING OUR VIN NOT ON THE LIST BUT OBVIOUSLY IT IS HAVING PROBLEMS AND REPLACING IT IS WHAT FIXED THE VEHICLE THANKS
THERE IS A SERIOUS DEFECT IN THE PARKING BRAKE WHICH CAUSES IT TO FREEZE AND LOCK UP IN COLD TEMPERATURES. THIS VEHICLE HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH NO PARKING GEAR SO THE PARKING BRAKE IS REQUIRED TO PARK THE VEHICLE SO THAT IT DOES NOT ROLL. WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT WATER GETS INTO THE PARKING BRAKE CABLE AND FREEZES IN SUBZERO TEMPERATURES CAUSING THE PARKING BRAKE TO NOT ENGAGE, NOT RELEASE, OR ONLY RELEASE PARTIALLY SO THAT IT DRAGS. FROM THE DRIVERS PERSPECTIVE IT APPEARS NORMAL OTHER THAN HAVING LESS OR NO TENSION WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE LEVER IS APPLIED.OR RELEASED. WHEN THE CABLE IS FROZEN WHILE THE BRAKE IS DISENGAGED, THE BRAKE DOES NOT ENGAGE, SO THERE IS NO WAY TO PROPERLY PARK THE VEHICLE. WHEN FROZEN WHILE ENGAGED, THE BRAKE REMAINS ON OR ONLY PARTIALLY RELEASES WHICH CAUSES IT TO BE UNABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OR THE...
PARKING BRAKE NOT WORKING DURING WINTER TIME. WHEN PARKING, PARKING BRAKE WAS USED AND IT WORK. WHEN DRIVEING THE VEHICLE THE PARKING BRAKE WAS RELEASE BUT THE BRAKE IS LOCK UP. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE. TOOK TO THE SHOP AND THE SHOE WAS ALL USE UP. I CHANGED THE SHOE AT THE SHOP AND STILL HAVING THE PROBLEM. PARKING BRAKE DO NOT WORK IN COLD WEATHER.
MY WIFE BOUGHT A CARGO VERSION OF THE RAM PROMASTER TO USE AS HER DAILY DRIVER AND, HOPEFULLY, WHEN SHE RETIRES, A TOURING/VACATION VEHICLE. NEITHER SHE NOR I INTENDED TO USE THE VEHICLE COMMERCIALLY YET THE TIRE PRESSURE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ON THIS IS SET TO KEEP THE REAR TIRES AT 72 PSI AND THE FRONTS AT 65 PSI, RIDICULOUSLY HIGH PRESSURES FOR A VEHICLE THAT WILL NEVER BE USED TO HAUL A LOAD. THE TIRES ON THIS VEHICLE ARE "C" RATED PASSENGER TIRES. THERE IS NO WAY FOR ME TO ADJUST THAT TO SOMETHING RELATED TO REAL-WORLD PHYSICS (MY BEST GUESS WOULD BE ROUGHLY 32 PSI ON ONE END AND, MAYBE, 35 PSI ON THE OTHER). WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO PARK ON A PIECE OF GLASS TO LOOK AT THE FOOT PRINT, I WOULD GUESS I ONLY HAVE ABOUT A 2/3 FOOTPRINT. IF SHE HAS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, EVEN IF...
