INCURRED SIGNIFICANT ADDITIONAL EXPENSES TO ALLEVIATE ISSUE SUCH AS IN CABIN AIR FILTER AND PURCHASE OF IONIZING UNIT; PLUS MISSED WORKDAYS, TRANSPORTATION, FUEL AND SERVICE AND DIAGNOSTIC FEES AT DEALERSHIPS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WAS CRACKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. JUST HAD BOTH MANIFOLDS REPLACED UNDER NISSAN WARRANTY. AS I WAS DRIVING AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP I HEARD A LOUD POP TURNING RIGHT FROM THE REAR OF THE TRUCK. TURNED AROUND BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIPS PARKING LOT I HEARD ANOTHER POP? THE SERVICE TECH DROVE IT AROUND THEIR SERVICE AREA AND SAID MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS GOING OUT. NISSAN HAS KNOWN THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR YEARS ESPECIALLY IN THE EARLY TRUCKS YEARS BUT REFUSES TO FIX IT UNDER A RECALL. THIS IS A $3500.00 FIX WHICH THE CONSUMER HAS TO PAY AND NISSAN PROFITS FROM A POORLY DESIGNED COMPONENT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON ALL NISSAN TITANS FROM '04 - '07. *TR

EXACTLY LIKE THE FREQUENT PROBLEM WITH THE 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND XTERRA, THE RADIATOR FAILED CAUSING COOLANT TO MIX WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. *TR

2004 NISSAN TITAN VIN [XXX] AT 90K MILES THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS CRACKED ON MY 2004 NISSAN TITAN. NISSAN COVERS THIS UNDER WARRANTY UNTIL 80K MILES FOR THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE TRUCK HAS HAD NO MODIFICATION AND WILL NOT PASS STATE EMISSIONS AND GETS HORRIBLE GAS MILEAGE DUE TO THIS. NOW AT 104 K I HAVE VISITED MULTIPLE DEALERS AND THEY AGREE THIS IS COMMON ISSUE WITH THE TITAN'S AND THE CRACK WILL MAKE A 5 YEAR OLD TRUCK NOT PASS STATE EMISSIONS. TO REPLACE THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WITH STOCK PARTS IS $1200; WHICH FRUSTRATES ME SINCE THIS IS A FAULTY DESIGN WHICH CAUSES THE MANIFOLDS TO MOVE DIFFERENTLY THEN THE ENGINE MOUNTS ALLOW THE ENGINE TO. WHILE TRAVELING TO GO ON A 13 HOUR DRIVE, ALL OF OUR ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE TRUCK BECAME SLUGGISH. WE HAD TRUCK TOWED AND GOT A CALL FROM DEALERSHIP SAYING WHAT HAPPEN WAS MUFFLER/EXHAUST UNIT FELL OFF DURING TRAVEL AND THE UNIT REMAINING GOT SO HOT IT BURNED OUT ENTIRE PART OF TRUCK INCLUDING, ECU, REAR RIGHT HARNESS, AND 3 OTHER THINGS. COST TO FIX OVER $3,000. AFTER PAYING HEFTY BILL SHOP MANAGER SAID THIS WAS THE 5TH TITAN IN OUR SMALL TOWN HE HAD SAME ISSUE WITH AND THAT HE AGREES THIS IS THE WORST PLACE FOR A UNIT ON A TRUCK AND MANUFACTURER SHOULD OF PUT OTHER LOCATION. I THEN FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THEY ACTED LIKE THEY CARED AND THEN 3 WEEKS LATER THEY DENIED HELPING ME AT ALL SAYING IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I DID RESEARCH ON LINE AND LOTS...
TICKING NOISE DISCOVERED WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK. SOUNDS SEEMS TO COME FROM LOWER ENGINE COMPARTMENT OR FROM FRONT WHEEL-WELLS. SUSPECTED A LEAKING EXHAUST PIPE. TOOK TRUCK TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS (LEFT AND RIGHT) WERE BOTH CRACKED. ESTIMATED COST WAS $2100. ADVISED BY NISSAN TECHNICIAN TO "JUST LEAVE IT ALONE" AS THE ONLY RESULT OF THIS PROBLEM WAS THE TICKING NOISE AND A LITTLE WORSE MILEAGE THAN USUAL. OVER THE LAST YEAR, SEVERAL INSTANCES OF ENGINE FUMES CAUSING PASSENGERS TO ROLL WINDOWS DOWN. SUSPECT THE FUMES ARE COMING FROM THE MANIFOLDS SINCE NO OTHER EXHAUST LEAKS HAVE BEEN FOUND. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE TEST DRIVING THE VEHICLE, DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH HE HEARD A TICKING SOUND IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE DEALER ADVISED HIM THAT THE FAILURE WAS NORMAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED IN AUGUST OF 2010 AND THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED SINCE THE PURCHASE DATE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 94,888.
FAILURE OF CRACKED MANIFOLD EXHAUST WITH BUILT IN CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HAVE CRACKED 3 MANIFOLD EXHAUST DUE TO THE FACT THAT NISSAN DID NOT INSTALL FLEX PIPES IN THEIR EXHAUST SYSTEM. IT IS HAPPENING ON ALL THE TITAN TRUCKS...LOOK AT THE FORUMS AND MY DEALER HAS CONFIRMED IT. EXHAUST IS LEAKING INTO THE CAB AREA. IT COST OVER $900 TO JUST REPAIR THE PART. THEY WILL NOT FIX IT! IT IS LEAKING STRAIGHT EXHAUST FUMES.
I HAVE AN '04 NISSAN TITAN CREW CAB TRUCK. IN EARLIER PART OF '09, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HWY, MY ENGINE STALLED AND WENT OUT. BASICALLY I WAS JUST ROLLING ON THE HWY UNAWARE THAT THE ENGINE WENT OUT. SEVERAL MECHANICS COULDN'T FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE UNTIL, I LATER LEARNED BY READING UP ON NISSAN FORUM ONLINE, OF SIMILAR CASES, THAT IT WAS AN IPDM FAILURE. I REPLACED THIS PART AND IT WORKED AGAIN. NOW, ITS JAN. 2010, AND IT WENT OUT ON ME AGAIN. THIS TIME, LUCKILY I WAS NOT DRIVING ON THE HWY, I WAS PARKED AND THE ENGINE WOULDN'T START. *TR
ONLY 65,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK AND NO MODIFICATIONS. RIGHT REAR SEAL LEAKING, PINION SEAL IS SHOT AND FRONT LEFT AXLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. NOTHING COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I AM LOOKING AT A $3,000 REPAIR BILL ON A 4 YEAR OLD TRUCK THAT HAS NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD AND DOESN'T HAVE HIGH MILES. MY EXHAUST MANIFOLD ALSO CRACKED AT ABOUT 60000 MILES. THIS WAS ABLE TO BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING BETWEEN 65 & 70 MPH AND THE ENGINE WENT INTO FAIL SAFE MODE AND BASICALLY RAN AT IDLE SPEED (10 MILES PER HOUR). I PARKED THE TRUCK, TURNED OFF ENGINE, RESTARTED, IT REMAINED IN IDLE SPEED ONLY, TURNED OFF ENGINE AND LEFT OFF FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES - IT STARTED AND RAN NORMAL. DEALER REPLACED ECM. THIS OCCURRED IN MAY 2007 AND THEN MY SON WAS DRIVING TODAY APRIL 2, 2008 AT ABOUT 45 MPH AND ENGINE JUST CUT OFF COMPLETELY (NOW AT THE DEALER). THIS IS HIGH RISK - IMAGINE TURNING ACROSS A LANE OF TRAFFIC AND THE ENGINE QUITTING OR PULLING ONTO THE EXPRESSWAY AND TRYING TO GET UP TO SPEED AND ENGINE QUITTING. *TR

DURING PRIOR FAILURES, THE ABS WARNING LIGHT BECAME ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAS REPORTED THE FAILURES TO NISSAN WITH NO RESOLUTION. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 83,000. THIS IS...

THE CONSUMER STATED THE OTHER PERSON SUSTAINED BACK INJURY. THE DEALER STATED TICKING NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE, REAR DOOR WEATHER STRIP IS HANGING, EXHAUST LEAK SOUND WHEN ACCELERATING, AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IS PEGGING HIGH. UPDATED 11/08/07 *TR
THE VEHICLE THE ATSC LIGHT CAME ON AND IT LOST POWER. THE CONSUMER PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WAITED FOR 2 MINUTES AND THE COMPUTER RESTARTED. THE TRANSMISSION JUST SEEMED TO TO SLOW DOWN.
