2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER Structure Problems

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle swayed to the right. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the rear subframe was extremely corroded, causing the rear driver’s side stabilizer bar to fracture. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 143,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the tires were losing air. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the subframe from the front end to the rear had severe corrosion. The mechanic advised the contact not to drive the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving 40-44 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond. Additionally, the contact stated that there was play in the rear wheels and the rear wheels seemed misaligned. The contact also stated that while coming to a complete stop and depressing the brake pedal, the rear wheels and the trailing arm seemed to move forward, then backward. The contact stated that the failure recurred while making a left turn. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the rear subframe was corroded. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist due to the manufactured date of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MOSSY NISSAN (8118 CLAIREMONT MESA BLVD, SAN DIEGO, CA 92111,(858) 565-4411) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPRINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUN VISORS FRACTURED AND DROOPED, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE VISORS BE REPLACED. THE VISORS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER ONE YEAR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR FAILED TO RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY DECELERATED WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE COMPUTER WOULD NEED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,402. UPDATED 11/26/13*CN ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE, THE CONSUMER COMPLAINED OF THE VEHICLE VIBRATING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. ALSO, THE ROOF WAS LOOSE, DUE TO THE MOLDING NOT HOLDING THE CLIP IN PLACE. UPDATED 12/02/13

ANY ITEMS ON THE FLOOR OF THE CENTER/BACK SEATING SECTION CAN SHIFT WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. THE ITEMS CAN TRAVEL UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT AND WEDGE UNDER THE BRAKE OR GAS PEDAL. THERE IS NOTHING UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT TO PREVENT ITEMS FROM REACHING THE DRIVERS FOOT AREA. ON ONE OCCASION A WATER BOTTLE WEDGED UNDER THE GAS PEDAL WHILE ENTERING A 70 MILE PER HOUR HIGHWAY. THE BOTTLE HAD TRAVELED UNDER THE SEAT WHEN THE CAR WAS GOING AROUND THE CURVED ONRAMP. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE, AND I TRY TO KEEP THE KIDS FROM PUTTING STUFF ON THE FLOOR. *TR
