Defect: Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Essex, 2020-2022 King Aire and London Aire motorhomes. A machining defect may cause pressure to build in the power steering pump and break the shaft seal, resulting in a loss of power steering assist.

Consequence: A loss of power steering assist increases the risk of a crash.

Consequence: If the fascia header falls while there is an occupant in the bed, it can increase the risk of an injury.

Wet bay door skin adhesive is failing on many units causing the door skin to become detached and blow off of the vehicle while driving. This happened to ours and we’ve seen many other units with the same issue. The dealers know this is an issue but Newmar will not address.

Driver’s side cockpit window is fogged to the point of zero usable visibility. This is a known issue among other owners of Newmar products with Fresco frameless windows. Neither Newmar nor Fresco will cover any cost of replacement or repair. This is a $2200 window to replace so many owners will try to live with it, causing a major hazard to other vehicles.
