Defect: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) expanded the affected population to include 73,712 2005-2009 RAM 2500 trucks produced at the St. Louis North Assembly Plant. With this change, Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2004-2008 RAM 1500, 2005-2009 RAM 2500, 2006-2009 RAM 3500, 2007-2010 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis, 2008-2010 RAM 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis, 2004-2009 Dodge Durango, 2007-2009 Chrysler Aspen, 2007-2012...
Consequence: These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. These inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling. An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY. THE CONTACT CALLED HUTCHINSON MITSUBISHI (123 MARGIE DR, WARNER ROBINS, GA 31093), AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE AIR BAGS MAY DEPLOY WHILE DRIVING, AND INFORMED HER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. PURCHASED USED VEHICLE AND FOUND WATER ACCUMULATED ON PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR WHEN AC IS USED. IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. DEFECTIVE DRAIN HOSE PLACED WITH UPWARDS ANGLE AND THE DRAIN WATER SEEPS BACK INTO THE VEHICLE. NO WAY TO REACH HOSE AND NOT REACHABLE, NOT SURE WHAT THE FIX WOULD BE. . THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE AC IS USED.

WHILE DRIVING WITH AC WHEN HITS CERTAIN SPEEDS IT LOCKS UP THE WHEELS FOR A SEC. THEN GOES AGAIN AND HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY 2 MINS AFTER WHILE DRIVING I HAVE KIDS AND IT'S A VERY SCARY SITUATION WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING 50 -60 MPH AND IT COMES TO A ALMOST COMPLETE STOP AND SQUEALS WHEELS WITHOUT A WARNING .. THE BRAKES LOCK UP BY IT SELF
