TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MERCURY MOUNTAINEER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD LUNGE BACKWARDS WHEN DRIVING IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS WAITING FOR THEM TO COMPLETE THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE WAS CONCERNED SINCE THE FAILURE WAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.

MY CAR HAS HAD A CONTINUING PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT SHIFTS ROUGHLY AND LURCHES WHEN BEGINNING TO MOVE. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT, AND THEN BEGINNING TO DRIVE, IT WILL LURCH, JOLTING THE PASSENGERS. OUR DRIVEWAY IS SLOPED TOWARD THE STREET.
