On [XXX] my 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS unexpectedly surged forward while I was stationary in a drive-through lane, immediately after pressing the "P" (Park) button. There was no audible or visual collision warning, and no automatic braking intervention occurred. My wife was in the front passenger seat and did not observe any foot movement or pedal input that would have triggered acceleration. The surge was strong enough to push the vehicle in front of me into another car ahead of it. There were no injuries, but the event was violent and completely unexpected. The vehicle is currently at AutoNation Collision in Sarasota, Florida, with approximately $18,750 in front-end damage. Progressive is handling the insurance claim. I am concerned about a potential malfunction in the forward collision system or an unintended acceleration event. I am reporting this to document the incident in case others experience similar safety failures. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
