TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 MAZDA 626. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID FOR A WHILE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CASING WAS CRACKED AND WOULD COST $1,500 TO REPAIR. THE DEALER THEN STATED THAT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS THE OUTPUT SEAL. THE THIRD DIAGNOSIS WAS LABELED AS A FAULTY SEAL. THE CONTACT RETURNED TO THE DEALER THREE ADDITIONAL TIMES BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION LEAK. THE DEALER FINALLY SENT HIM TO A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP WHERE HE WAS TOLD THAT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS THE AXLE SLEEVE. THE LEAK HAS BEEN REPAIRED AND NOW THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT HAS BEGUN BLINKING. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 104,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

AT THE TIME I ASKED THEM IF THERE WAS A REASON IT FAILED AND THEY TOLD ME NO THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE MAZDA 626.
