#11375742 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | | 61,139 miles
THE CAR UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATES. THIS HAPPENED ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE 1ST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. IT'S A 2015 MODEL. I PURCHASED A VEHICLE IN AUGUST 2020. THE 2ND OCCURRENCE HAPPENED NOV 12 AND TODAY NOV 21. THE 1ST TIME THIS HAPPENED I DID SOME RESEARCH AND IT SEEMED LIKE THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH MASERATIS FLOOR OWN FLOOR MATS. AT THE TIME AND PRIOR TO KNOWING THIS, I HAD PUT BRAND NEW FLOOR MATS OF MY OWN IN THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY UNAWARE THAT THIS WAS AN OEM ISSUE. AFTER THIS HAPPENED THE 1ST TIME, I REMOVED MY PERSONAL FLOOR MATS THINKING THAT WOULD SOLVE THE ISSUE. THE 2ND TIME THIS HAPPENED, THE ISSUE WAS SLIGHT AND THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND ME. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS AN OPERATOR ISSUE USING MANUAL SHIFTING PERHAPS. AT ANY RATE I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE 2ND OCCURRENCE RATHER QUICKLY TO THE POINT WHERE THIS WAS ALMOST UNNOTICEABLE. THIS THIRD TIME THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOST CONTROL AND I HAD TO DEPRESS THE BREAK PEDAL %100 IN TRAFFIC TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR. MEANWHILE, IT WOULD STILL CONTINUE TO DO THE ACCELERATION. THE CAR WAS SCREECHING AND ACCELERATING WITH ME DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. I PULLED OFF SAFELY ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL 100% DEPRESSED. I THREW THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. THIS VEHICLE DOESN'T ALLOW YOU TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL WHILE OCCURRING.(UNSAFE)I DON'T THINK THIS ISSUE HAS RELEVANCE TO THE CURRENT RECALL FOR THIS MODEL, WHICH IS FLOORMAT RELATED. WHEN TRYING TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE I CONSCIOUSLY TRIED TO SEE IF THE PEDAL WAS STUCK AND IT WAS NOT. ALSO THERE ARE NO REPORTED RECALLS FOR MY PARTICULAR VIN SO I'M REPORTING THIS NOW.I HAVE SINCE CONTACTED MASERATI AND HAVE A CURRENT REPAIR SCHEDULED. AT THIS TIME, I DON'T KNOW IF THEY WILL DO THIS REPAIR FREE OF CHARGE BUT WILL HAVE FOLLOW-UP DETAILS AVAILABLE IF NEED BE.
