2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN THE ACCIDENT. *KB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 LINCOLN TOWN CAR. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE SIDE AIR BAGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT DEPLOYED. THERE WAS NO IMPACT OR CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR DEACTIVATED AND CAUSED THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 00V412000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE). THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN.
