WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE I-10 AT POSTED SPEEDS, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SPUTTER, LOSE ACCELERATION AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED, THE CAR WAS DRIVEN OFF THE FREEWAY (LESS THAN 1/8 MILE) TO THE CLOSEST SAFE AREA. THE CAR WAS THEN TOWED TO THE MECHANIC. AN IGNITION COIL WAS BURNED AND THE PCM/PROCESSOR HAD FAILED. ALL 6 COILS WERE REPLACED AS WELL AS THE PCM FOLLOWING TSB 14-0059, AFTER THE PCM AND COILS WERE REPLACED, A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL APPEARED INDICATING FAILURE OF THE REAR CATALYTIC CONVERTER. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, MILEAGE WAS APPROX. 71,195 MILES. *TR
