Recall 13V235000 — SERVICE BRAKES

| 87,060 vehicles affected

Defect: Toyota is recalling certain model year 2010 Prius vehicles manufactured March 31, 2009, through October 9, 2009; and model year 2010 Lexus HS250h vehicles manufactured June 19, 2009, through October 9, 2009. Nitrogen gas from a component of the brake booster pump assembly could leak into the brake fluid.

Consequence: As nitrogen is released into the brake fluid, the brake pedal may have reduced hydraulic pressure. Under certain circumstances, this condition could affect stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected brake booster pump assemblies. The recall began on August 7, 2013. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

The rear suspension lateral links (Rear Control Arm No. 1) have failed to remain adjustable because they were permanently encapsulated in epoxy by the dealer during the official Lexus Safety Recall for rear suspension arm corrosion. This component is currently installed on the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. This "locked" state has caused a severe misalignment resulting in premature tire failure, with the current set of tires showing significant inner tread wear and reaching the end of their life far sooner than their expected mileage rating. This creates an immediate hazard of a sudden highway blowout, compromised braking stability, and emergency handling instability that endangers both the occupants and other drivers. Furthermore, the constant lateral drag puts undue stress on other suspension components and reduces fuel efficiency. This problem was first confirmed by an independent service center (Brakes Plus) and subsequently verified by a Lexus dealership technician on January 24, 2026, who acknowledged the parts are non-adjustable due to the manufacturer's recall remedy but refused to replace them under the program. The manufacturer's refusal to replace these locked parts forces the continued operation of an unsafe vehicle.

Car has a brake malfunction. There was a recall issued for this model in 2013 for this year and model, yet they only included some VIN#'s in the recall when they know most if not all of these models have the problem. Recall: 13V235000 "Model year 2010 Lexus HS250h vehicles manufactured June 19, 2009, through October 9, 2009. Nitrogen gas from a component of the brake booster pump assembly could leak into the brake fluid." My car was manufactured during this period yet is still not included in the recall list. Lexus is absolutely responsible for a brake booster replacement, yet they refuse to accept responsibility. My car has always had odd braking on slick grounds, it has always skipped and slipped forward needing a larger breaking distance than a normal vehicle. Now my dash is lit up like a christmas tree due to a manufacturing malfunction. More VIN#'s need to be added to this Break recall. Please issue a safety investigation into this matter as more vehicles need to be included.
Pre Collision System light on dash, abs lights, traction lights etc Error Code C1391which requires a Brake Booster pump AND a Brake booster pump kit due to a MALFUNCTION which should be manufacturers responsibility. They launched a customer support program for a very short period (you had to have the error during this short time) and EXCLUDED all HS250h from the Secondary Coverage period by noting expiry if vehicle is over 10years which they were past that at the time of LAUNCHING THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT PROGRAM which is completely unethical and negligent to their customers. I was never notified of this program. This short time frame under the program leaves MOST customers with these vehicles at risk. A safety RECALL should've been done as this is a big safety issue. It is not safe to drive with a bad brake booster because it significantly compromises your vehicle's braking power, making it dangerous. A failing brake booster can cause a vacuum leak, which can lead to the engine stalling when you apply the brakes. Unreliable and worsening problem: The issue is likely to get worse over time, and you could be caught off guard by a complete failure, leaving you with dangerously unreliable brakes. Vehicle has been inspected by Lexus and Toyota, both quoting astronomical fees associated with Brake booster replacement due to malfunction. Lexus Customer Brand Support was of no help, just repeatedly stating that the program expired and that it is up to me if i want to pursue legal action because this needs to be resolved by lexus. There have been class action suits and accidents due to this malfunction and I will pursue legal action as this is complete negligence by Lexus.

there was a safety recall issued for this model for this year for this car. I took the car to someone and they told me there was a recall for this issue so I should take to the dealer. I took to the dealer in Chandler, they told me there was no open recalls. I called the Lexus customer service line, they told me to take the car to the place where they had originally done the recall work, at Bell Lexus. Even though they know this was from a recall they will not perform the work even though this is a known issue and safety recall on this car. this is the same combination as the recall and they will not even consider fixing it.
