Recall 06V184000 — FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
| 2,321 vehicles affected
Defect: ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE BOLTS HOLDING THE VEHICLE DOWN SENSOR MAY COME LOOSE AND ALLOW THE SENSOR TO FALL OUT OF ITS MOUNTING BRACKET.
Consequence: IF THE BOLTS LOOSEN AND THE VEHICLE DOWN SENSOR COMES OUT OF ITS BRACKET, THE ENGINE MAY STOP DURING THE VEHICLE OPERATION CREATING THE POTENTIAL FOR A CRASH RESULTING IN INJURY OR DEATH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL TIGHTEN THE VEHICLE DOWN SENSOR MOUNTING BOLTS TO THE PROPER TORQUE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 26, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KAWASAKI AT 866-802-9381.

I WAS RIDING IN TO A TUNNEL AND HEARD A CRACK TYPE NOISE THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SMOKE APPEARED, THE REAR TIRE WAS RUBBING UNDER SUBFRAME SLOWING THE BIKE DOWN, THE REAR SUSPENSION HAD COLLAPSED AND THE CROSSMEMBER SEPARATED FROM THE FRAME. THE SHOCK MOUNT IS HANGING OFF THE FRAME. THIS COULD HAVE POSSIBLY CAUSED A FATAL ACCIDENT. *TR

HEARD OF PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH FRAMES CRACKING ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THAT MINE IS ALSO CRACKED. IT IS A MOTORCYCLE AND THE REAREND OF THE BIKE COULD COME DETACHED IF THE CRACK BECOMES A BREAK. ALSO HAVE A FRIEND WITH A CRACK IN THE SAME LOCATION. *JB
