Major warning lights appeared on dash. Vehicle began presenting messages stating to service vehicle systems. Power steering, traction control, and emergency braking were among those listed. Vehicle was at a 60% state of charge with 95% fuel. Engine ran, but other major vehicle systems would not engage. Attempted to reverse the vehicle to see if it would move and it accelerated abnormally fast in reverse. The vehicle stated hybrid mode and ready, but was not in an operable state. The issue persisted between restarts and idling sessions.
On February 10, 2025 at approximately 4:45 EST, I was driving approximately 55MPH in the far left lane of a multi-lane highway when I received a notice that my hybrid propulsion system had malfunctioned. Upon receiving the notice, I immediately lost power/propulsion of my vehicle although the warning notice disappeared and the screen made it appear that the vehicle was operating. As I pressed the gas pedal, I noted that there was no power being provided to the powertrain and I had to progressively move to the right to find a safe spot to stop. Upon stopping, the warning re-appeared and informed me to put the car in park and turn it off and restart the vehicle. At the time of failure, the battery had a remaining charge of 10% and 3/4 tank of gas. Upon restart, the vehicle functioned as normal using the gasoline powered engine. The vehicle is...
The vehicle has no heating, I’ve taken the vehicle multiple times to the dealership From September 2024 and to date January 2025, the vehicle has been in the dealership since December, multiple attempts has been made to fix the heating system including replacing parts one of them being a valve. Vehicle is still not working after replacement of parts, the engineering company called “Star Engineering” are involved at this point and they are still continuing to fix the car. The electrical component of this car is not working properly. This car is only 1 year old and it is a hybrid 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee purchased brand new. In 2023 after 2 weeks of leading this vehicle, the cars steering wheel froze and I was unable to drive it, I had to get the vehicle towed to the dealership. This is a major safety issue especially if you have children...
while driving this 4xe (hybrid) the vehicle thinks that it has been plugged in to charge and will momentarily shut down, no brake lights, no warning. ours has been in the shop for almost three months waiting for a fix. On three occasions we were told it was working as designed and sent down the road. Thankfully we were in no accidents but had seven close calls. it happens every time you drive it. The incident date is just a date, it happens every time you drive it.
On 1/31/24, while merging onto a highway(approx 45 mph), I accelerated into the lane in front of a truck. As I pressed the gas pedal nothing happened. The engine did not rev and I did not accelerate. I swerved on to the shoulder and coasted for several hundred feet and came to a stop. I put the car in park, turned off the vehicle and restarted it. Operated normally after that. The second instance of loss of motive power was on 3/11/24. Turning right on a residential street (approx 15 mph), the car demonstrated the exact same issue. In both cases no warning lights or messages came up, and the 'fix' was the same. Starting approximately 6/15/24 the vehicle began displaying the message "Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable" while driving. I would experience a loss of motive power temporarily, coast for 5-10 seconds, the vehicle would switch to 'gas mode' and...
I received a safety recall letter in the mail. I made an appointment at the South Shore Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Service center in Inwood, NY for the repair of the recall and to change the oil. I specifically made the appointment for the recall (I keep getting notifications to repair) I went to the service center (1 hour drive from my home) on May 18,2024 (when I called to check in for the appointment “Shanty” told me that there’s no appointment scheduled for me, even though I got a text message confirming the appointment) Nevertheless, I went anyways. When I provided the recall letter to the representative, he told me that the service team can only do an oil change and can’t repair the defrost that day. So, after waiting for the oil change, I asked when I can come back for the recall repair, the representative told me...
The Stalantis manufacturer of 2023 JEEP vehicles has modified its steering/transmission controls to cause a safety concern. On the steering wheel are two “Auto Stick” (aka “paddles”) which when touched switch the transmission from automatic to manual. The “auto stick” controls are marked (-) minus on the left side of the steering wheel and (+) on the right side. Beneath them are the controls for the radio (or other media). These are “buttons” on the left that control the channels (up & down) for the radio. On the right side they control the volume. The safety concern is that the “auto stick” can be easily hit at the same time when attempting to use the radio controls and it will immediately shift the transmission from automatic to manual. The auto-stick control can also be inadvertently hit when using the steering wheel in a normal manner. This is dangerous. The vehicle...
Jeep has defective transmissions in several 4xe models and not recalling - still selling these cars knowing transmissions are bad causing several issues for customers and major safety concern
Hybrid System, Air Suspension System, Engine, Power Train Car acceleration power cut out while driving 50 mph suddenly while driving down the road. Held up traffic when came to complete stop, vehicle would not restart immediately. Needed to restart vehicle multiple times before it started moving again. Problem has not been able to be reproduced by the dealer. They reset codes and took on a test drive and was not able to reproduce the issue. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than the dealer. Currently Check Engine Light is on with Air Suspension Fault Light on as well. There was no warning to the vehicle losing power.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving very slowly and making a left turn, the vehicle abruptly stopped nearly causing a rear end collision. The contact discovered that the transmission had erroneously shifted to park and failed to shift back to drive. After a while the contact was able to drive the vehicle to his parents’ residence. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 536.
Car is not driving well, roaring sound and jerky acceleration. Transmission pump is faulty on a new car with less than 3000 miles.
Driving Screen, Swaybar Disconnect systems, Airbags, TPMS, Driving controls such as blinkers, and emergency flashers. The car was functioning normally, with no anomalies or error messages, including through phone notifications. The battery charge was nearly complete. I engaged Electric-Drive mode and used regenerative braking to recharge the battery on my way to town. Approximately 30 minutes into the drive, and with the battery at 99% charge, I heard a loud pop. It sounded like it was coming from the right-side passenger control arm. Shortly after, my dashboard was illuminated with warning lights, including a check engine light and notifications about air suspension and sway bar disconnection, airbags, tpms sensors, and more. The car decelerated dramatically; The dashboard screen flickered on and off as if rebooting. I got the vehicle safely, but during that time, the car seemed to be in limp mode, unresponsive to acceleration, and stiffer than normal breaking....
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the “4-WD mode Disabled”, and that the Automatic Emergency Braking activated messages were displayed. The vehicle then independently turned off. The contact stated that there were no other vehicles in front of the vehicle at the time of the failure. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact stated that upon restarting the vehicle, the messages were no longer displayed. The contact continued driving; however, the vehicle failed to shift smoothly into the intended gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where diagnostic codes related to the transmission valve body were retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 1,100.
Transmission started leaking and spraying transmission fluid while driving. Fluid hits exhaust and then smokes and burns off. Jeep has replaced various parts however it appears that the ZF transmissions are failing / have cracks in the housing. Dealer acknowledges the problem. Upon the 2nd failure dealer had us tow it to the dealership. The Jeep is now at the dealer waiting for a response from FCA on what is to be done. This is occurring on a number of Jeeps - both Grand Cherokee 4Xe's and Wrangler 4Xe's. No warning lamps - just a burning smell when driving. We have concerns about catastrophic failure while driving. Also concerned about potential fire due to the fluid leaking onto the exhaust system. Was first discovered by the dealer during routine maintenance. Regarding my dates: I noticed the burning smell when the Jeep was new - Thought it was just the normal...
On February 23rd 2023 I picked up my new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe from conway Jeep in South Carolina . On the way home I noticed my foot kept slipping off the accelerator pedal and wasn't sure what was causing it. When I arrived home I noticed the accelerator pedal was made from a slick piece of plastic and didn't have a rubber cover or anti slip material installed like the brake pedal had. I contacted the jeep dealership and asked if jeep forgot to install one at the factory and if so please have one sent out. A representative spoke with their techs to order a new one and they stated jeep doesn't offer that part nor was it on the entire pedal assembly to order. They ended up checking all their grand cherokee 4xes on the lot and they all came like that. Jeep corporate office was...
