All Structure Complaints
ACCELERATED FROM STOP AND THROTTLE STUCK. WAS ABLE TO SHUT DOWN ENGINE AND GET TO SIDE OF ROAD. INSPECTED CABLE AND FOUND THAT RUBBER BOOT ON ENGINE SIDE OF CABLE HOUSING HAD BECOME GUMMY/STICKY/SOFT AND HAD FOLDED IN ON ITSELF, STICKING TO THE INNER CABLE ITSELF. REMOVED BOOT TO GET HOME. LOOKED ONLINE FOR REPLACEMENT, AND FOUND THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR EXACT SAME PROBLEM ON EXACT SAME MODEL AND YEAR, BUT AFTER CALLING ISUZU, WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, THOUGH IT'S THE SAME PART NUMBER. OBVIOUSLY THE RECALL WAS INCOMPLETE, AND THERE ARE STILL CARS OUT THERE WHICH, LIKE MINE, HAVE THE SAME FAULTY SPEED CONTROL COMPONENTS. HAD I NOT KNOWN TO TAKE THE CAR OUT OF GEAR AND SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE, THERE COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN A CRASH. MY WIFE DRIVES MY 2 YEAR OLD SON IN THIS CAR....
