2006 INFINITI FX35. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE MUFFLER AND HEAT SHIELD COVERING CATALYTIC CONVERTER CORROSION AND RUST. *SMD THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE MUFFLER RUSTING AND THE HEAT SHIELD FALLING OFF, WAS DUE TO MOISTURE AND ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS. THE CONSUMER STATED A FEW WEEKS AGO, HIS WIFE FOUND PIECE OF METAL UNDER THE VEHICLE, IN THEIR DRIVEWAY, WHICH WAS BADLY RUSTED. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THE PART CAME FROM THE HEAT SHIELD COVERING CATALYTIC CONVERTER, AND NOT HAVING THE PART COULD CAUSE A FIRE AND CREATE HEAT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED, SO THEREFORE, THE CONSUMER HAD TO PURCHASE THE WHOLE PIECE, WHICH WAS VERY EXPENSIVE. HE WAS INFORMED THE OTHER PARTS WOULD EVENTUALLY FALL OFF AS WELL. INFINITI AGREED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR ONLY, AND THE CONSUMER WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PARTS. THE REPAIR...
