Defect: International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2026-2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.
Consequence: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 16, 2026. Defect: International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. While carrying the maximum number of occupants, the bus may exceed Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) when the fuel tank and fluid reservoirs are full.
Consequence: An incorrect GVWR may lead to unintentionally overloading the bus, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The remedy is currently under development. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by December 22, 2025.
