LETTER FROM CONGRESSMAN SARBANES ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE VEHICLE SAFETY. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A METAL-ON-METAL SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE STEERING WOULD BIND WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE THE NOISE AND STEERING ISSUES WERE CONFIRMED. THE DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A SEAM FAILURE ON THE CHASSIS. THE STEERING PUMP WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, A MONTH LATER, THE PROBLEM RETURNED. *JB
