TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HUMMER H2. THE CONTACT STATED THE SHIFT LINKAGE FELL OFF CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHIFT OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH. THE GEAR SHIFT WAS IN DRIVE AND SHIFTED ON ITS OWN INTO NEUTRAL GEAR. THE FRONT PUMP TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING AND FAILED TO SHIFT INTO GEAR. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND INFORMED HER THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND HER VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THEY ALSO INFORMED HER TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

WHEN RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO LOWER GEARS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO LOCATE A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 03V075000- POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) BUT WAS ADVISED BY BOTH THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
