THE AIRBAG SRS CONTROL UNIT FAILED. THE DASHBOARD LIGHT NOTIFIED US OF THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER REPLACED THE UNIT; THE TOTAL COST WAS $666.95. THE CAR IS ONLY FIVE YEARS OLD AND MANY OWNERS WOULD NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO REPLACE THE UNIT. NO WARRANTY COVERAGE EXTENDS TO SAFETY EQUIPMENT AS A LENGTHY TEN YEAR WARRANTY COVERS POLLUTION SYSTEMS. THE DEALER OFFERED TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IF WE CHOSE TO NOT FIX THE CONTROL UNIT.*AK
