TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE AND SMOKE EMERGED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TERMINAL BECAUSE IT WAS MELTING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 268,000. *TT
