On model years 2008-2010 of the CBR1000RR there is a acknowledged issue by Honda regarding the crankshaft and primary driven gear in the engine. These crankshafts were not properly produced causing deformity and emitting a whining noise. My motorcycle is one of the bikes that emit the crank noise. Honda did a 5 year warranty extension but that did not fix all instances of the issue as not all bikes produced the noise indicating an issue during that 5 year time frame. A deformity in the primary driven gear is arguably a large safety concern for motorcyclists with the affected motorcycles, as if the teeth on the gear fail, it could cause a catastrophic failure while moving, posing serious risk to the rider. There is a service bulletin that exists for this year and years 2008-2009 as well where Honda acknowledges the issue. How is such a large and potentially...
