THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AN IGNITION OUTPUT SIGNAL MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 215,000.

CAR WAS DIFFICULT TO START TWICE. I THOUGHT NOTHING OF THE ISSUE. DRIVING HOME FROM WORK IN MAY 2010 AND THE ENTIRE CAR WENT DEAD. NO POWER TO THE ENGINE OR ANY ACCESSORIES. LUCKILY I WAS NOT IN TRAFFIC OR ELSE THE SITUATION COULD HAVE ENDED MUCH DIFFERENTLY WITH A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. I COASTED TO A STOP AND WIGGLED THE KEY, AND LIMPED IT HOME WITH THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON. I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND TRACED THE ISSUE TO A DEFECTIVE IGNITION SWITCH. I ORDERED A BECKARNLEY #201-1807 SWITCH TO REPLACE THE OLD ONE. THE OLD SWITCH WAS CLEARLY WORN AND HAD BURN MARKS ON THE METAL, THUS CAUSING THE LACK OF CONDUCTION IN THE IGNITION SYSTEM. THE CAR IS RUNNING PERFECTLY NOW. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AS IT IS FOR OTHER MODEL YEARS OF THE SAME MODEL (HONDA ACCORD). *TR
