BACKING UP TO MY TRAILER WHEN MY BRAKE LINES BLEW OUT ON MY 2002 GMC SIERRA 2500 HD. ALSO UNDERNEATH OF TRUCK IS SOO RUSTED AND BOTTOM OF DOORS ARE ALSO RUSTING THROUGH. *TR
I WAS PARKED IN A FRIENDS DRIVEWAY AND WAS ABOUT TO LEAVE WHEN I RELEASED THE PARKING BRAKE STEPPED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PUT MY 2002 GMC 2500HD TRUCK INTO GEAR. I STARTED DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND APPROACHED A STOP SIGN, WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES THE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND OPENED THE HOOD WHEN I NOTICED BRAKE FLUID ALL OVER THE FRAME IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FOUND ALL THE BRAKE LINES TO BE SEVERELY RUSTED AND AT LEAST ONE OF THEM RUPTURED. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 9 MONTH OLD SON AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT AND THANK GOD NOBODY WAS COMING THE OTHER WAY DOWN THE ROAD. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO MY HOME WHERE IT SITS AWAITING A TOTAL BRAKE LINE REPLACEMENT. THE UNDERNEATH OF THE TRUCK...
CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE VIBRATED EXCESSIVELY WHEN TRAVELING BETWEEN 40-60MPH. DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT A DEFECTIVE FRAME FLEX WAS CAUSING VIBRATION AND THERE WAS NO REMEDY.*JB
