TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE SERVICE BRAKES WHEEL SPEED SENSOR. ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2007, THE DEALER REPAIRED THE RECALL; HOWEVER, THE ABS AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS HAVE BEEN ILLUMINATED SINCE THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 15 AND 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD NOISE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR AND WHEEL BEARINGS WERE ONE UNIT. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THEY CLEANED ONE SIDE AND THE OTHER SIDE DID NOT NEED TO BE CLEANED. THE SERVICE MANAGER CONFIRMED THAT THEY USED FORCE TO REMOVE PARTS FROM THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO WITHSTAND MUCH MORE DAMAGE THAN WHAT OCCURRED. DURING THE RECALL REPAIR, THE DEALER DAMAGED THE FRONT BALL JOINT AND DENTED THE ROTORS. THE DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE IS WORSE THAN IT...
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE PAID FOR THE RECALL REPAIR AND EXPECTED TO BE REIMBURSED. THE DEALER REIMBURSED HIM $148, BUT DID NOT REIMBURSE HIM FOR THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE REPAIRS, BECAUSE THE RECEIPT WAS NOT IN HIS NAME. THE SALESMAN WHO SOLD HIM THE VEHICLE PURCHASED THE PART. *AK
