I bought a 2003 GMC Envoy 3/23/24. The main frame and sub-frame have extensive rot, and is unsafe to drive. It is available to inspect. They disguised frame damage and sold me an unsafe vehicle. I brought the car in to have the ac repaired in August 2024 and when they put it up on the lift that's when they saw the damage. This was Rogers Automotive in Westport MA. They told me at that time that it is unsafe to drive. It has not been inspected by any other parties at this time. We had no idea it was damaged, Rogers said it was sprayed to try to hide the damage.
Rear door will not open. Window works but door handles inside and outside will not unlock door to open.
MY WIFE WAS SITTING IN THE BACKSEAT AND THE BACK DOOR FLEW OPEN ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THE OTHER BACK DOOR IS NOT CLICKING SHUT AND THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
DRIVER DOOR WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK ELECTRONICALLY BUT IF YOU TRY TO UNLOCK DOOR MANUALLY IT DOES NOT UNLOCK. IF CAR CRASHES PERSON COULD GET TRAPPED IF CAR IS ON FIRE COULD CAUSE A DEATH IF NO POWER TO ELECTRONIC LOCKS
WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY TWO DIFFERENT REPAIR GARAGES THAT THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE IS TOTALLY RUSTED AND DANGEROUS. WE HAVE 150,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE.
2003 GMC ENVOY... THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH ... THE DOOR OPENED DOING ABOUT 30 MPH
2003 GMC ENVOY ... THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH ... THE DOOR OPENED WHILE IN MOTION DOING ABOUT 30 MPH
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON. CAN NOT OPEN REAR PASSENGER DOOR FROM INSIDE ALL 4 CIGERETT LIGHTS HAVE STOPPED WORKING. DRIVERS WINDOW STICKS GOING UP AND DOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE COLLAPSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER (ROBERTSON'S GMC TRUCK, 2680 CRANBERRY HWY, WAREHAM, MA 02571) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRAME ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT *TR
IT STARTED WITH ENGINE MISFIRING CAUSING ENGINE TO JOLT WHICH DAMAGED #4 COIL PACK SEAL TO FAILED ALLOWING WATER INTRUSION. IN 2008, THE GMC MECHANIC REPLACED ALL SIX COILS SEALS BUT IN 2013-PRESENT P0440 ENGINE CODE IS A LEAK IN THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP). LOOSE FUEL TANK FILLER CAP IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE THAT TRIGGERS THE P0440 CODE. I FAILED A FEW SMOG CHECK SPENDING HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS YET MY PROBLEM STILL EXISTENCE. I'VE CONTACTED THE BUREAU OF AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR BECAUSE PURRFECT AUTO IN FULLERTON,CA LIED ABOUT FIXING MY CAR. THE BAR MADE PURRFECT AUTO REPLACE THE GAS TANK AND GAS CAP YET THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON DISPLAYING CODE P0440. ITS BEEN 14 YEARS AND I'M STILL DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM.
I TOOK VEHICLE TO GMC DEALER FOR AN UNRELATED GM SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM AND UPON REMOVAL OF THE FUEL TANK, THEY FOUND EXTENSIVE RUST-THROUGH ADJACENT TO WHERE THE TANK MOUNTS TO THE FRAME. THEY SAID THE "VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO BE DRIVEN" YET IT HAS ONLY 100,000 MILES AND ITS EXTERIOR APPEARS ALMOST LIKE-NEW. DEALER FEELS THE DESIGN OF THE TANK BEING MOUNTED AGAINST THE FRAME CAUSED ROAD SALT, ETC TO GET TRAPPED WHERE IT CANNOT BE CLEANED OUT BY UNDERCARRIAGE CAR WASHES. I RECENTLY CONTACTED GMC BUT MY COMPLAINT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED TO MY SATISFACTION. I SUSPECT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF ENVOY/TRAILBLAZER (XL) MODELS STILL ON THE ROAD WITH THIS HIDDEN "CANCER".
THE KEY FOB, USED TO UNLOCK THE CAR, WILL NOT UNLOCK THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. I CAN HEAR A CLICKING NOISE LIKE THE LATCH IS TRYING TO DISENGAGE, BUT IT WILL NOT. THE REMEDY FOR THIS IS TO LEAVE THE WINDOW OPEN IN ORDER TO PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON INSIDE THE CAR OR TO WAIT AND CONTINUOUSLY PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON THE KEY FOB (THE LATCH INSIDE THE DOOR WILL EVENTUALLY UNLOCK THE CAR). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS UNABLE TO OPEN AND THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO FULLY CLOSE AND LOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE NO DIAGNOSTIC WAS RUN. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
AFTER SIX MONTHS HAVING PURCHASED THIS USED VEHICLE FROM A LOCAL DEALER, I NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, NOR WERE THE POWER WINDOW DEVICES, CONTROLS, POWER LOCKS AND ALSO THE VISIBILITY OF DRIVER'S REAR WINDOW. I NOTICED THAT THE DOOR WOULD OVERHEAT AND SOMETIMES I CAN SMELL AN ODOR SIMILAR TO WHEN SOMETHING IS BURNING. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC AND FINDING THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN DIFFICULT. ON JUNE 2013, I READ ON THE MSN WEBSITE THAT THE GMC ENVOYS FOR 2006 AND 2007 WERE BEING RECALLED (RECALL #13V248000) IN REGARDS TO DRIVER'S MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH. SINCE I AM HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM, WITH MY 2003 ENVOY, I CALLED GMC AND EXPLAINED TO HER THAT I AM HAVING THAT SAME ISSUE WITH MY 2003 ENVOY. SHE INDICATED THAT GMC WOULD PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE LABOR EVEN THOUGH MY...
ELECTRONIC PROBLEM WITH 4WD WAS SUPPOSEDLY CORRECTED IN 2004, TRANSFER CASE FOR 4WD WAS REPLACED IN APRIL 2005, AND 4WD FAILED AGAIN DURING FIRST DAY TRYING TO USE IT DURING ICY CONDITIONS AFTER IT WAS "REPAIRED" IN APRIL. HAD TO DRIVE ON DANGEROUS, SLICK ROADS WITHOUT 4WD FROM FAIRBANKS TO PALMER, AK. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IN ALASKA WHERE WINTER DRIVING CAN BE VERY HAZARDOUS WITHOUT 4WD. HAVE HAD IT INTO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR LOUD SQUEAK UNDER VEHICLE WHEN MAKING TURNS OR GOING OVER BUMPS AT SLOW SPEEDS. NO CORRECTIVE ACTION BY DEALER. COULD NOT GET VEHICLE OUT OF "PARK". HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. THEY DISCONNECTED SOMETHING AND TOLD ME TO BE CAREFUL BECAUSE WHATEVER THEY DID WOULD ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO BE PUT INTO "DRIVE" WITHOUT HAVING BRAKES ENGAGED! HAD TO DRIVE IT THIS WAY FOR SEVERAL WEEKS UNTIL THEY GOT REPLACEMENT PART....
WHEN DRIVING OVER 55 MPH WIND CAUSED VEHICLE TO SHIFT FROM SIDE TO SIDE. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE WIND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BE PUSHED INTO A DITCH OFF OF THE ROAD. THERE HAD BEEN SLIGHT INJURIES SUSTAINED BOTH INSTANCES. *AK
I OWN A 2003 GMC ENVOY XL AND WHEN I AM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I HEAR A LOT OF WIND NOISE, WHILE THE WINDOWS ARE CLOSED. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM. *JB
