ON FEBRUARY 8, 2010, I PUT MY SUV IN MY GARAGE FOR THE NIGHT. WHEN I WENT TO GET IN IT THE NEXT MORNING TO GO TO WORK, THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS DOWN. I WENT TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY AND NOTHING WORKED ON THAT SIDE OF THE DOOR AND THE WINDOW WOULD NOT GO UP. THIS PANEL CONTROLS EVERYTHING, SEAT CONTROL, MOVEMENT AND HEATED SEAT, ALL WINDOWS, BOTH OUTSIDE MIRRORS, AND NOW WHEN I TURN THE KEY ON THE HORN BLOWS. WHEN I LEAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, THE ALARM TO TELL ME I DID, DOES NOT GO OFF. I HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK THE DRIVERS DOOR. I HAD TO DRIVE IT TO A DEALERSHIP, IN A SNOW STORM, 0 DEGREE WEATHER, WITH THE WINDOW DOWN, ONLY TO FIND OUT THE MASTER SWITCH ON THE DRIVERS DOOR HAD BURNED UP. THE SERVICE MGR. TO WHO I TOOK...

I JUST EXPERIENCED A SAFETY DEFECT THAT COULD HAVE HAD VERY SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES. IT INVOLVES THE FAILURE OF THE SHIFT CABLE ATTACHMENT TO THE TRANSMISSION MOUNTED SHIFT LEVER. YOU UNKNOWINGLY LOOSE THE ABILITY TO PLACE THE TRANSMISSION INTO THE "PARK" POSITION, WITH THE RESULTING VEHICLE MOVEMENT OF AN APPARENTLY PARKED VEHICLE. PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP. -- THANKS *TR
