Defect: CERTAIN HONEYWELL FRAM RACING BRAND HP4 AND HP8 OIL FILTERS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 25, 2006, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 14, 2007, AND SOLD FOR USE AS REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT FOR VEHICLES LIST ABOVE. THE AFFECTED FILTERS ARE MARKED WITH A DATE CODE A61451 THROUGH A72571 SEQUENTIALLY. THE DATE CODE AND PART NUMBER APPEAR ON THE FILTER HOUSING. FRAM RACING HP4 AND...

Consequence: THIS CONDITION MAY CAUSE INADEQUATE SEALING AND LOSS OF ENGINE OIL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A FIRE.

Remedy: HONEYWELL WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED OIL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN DURING NOVEMBER 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLL-FREE AT 1-800-890-2075.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 GMC SIERRA C2500 SLE N/A. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED AN ABNORMAL ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE INTO A SHOPPING CENTER AND NOTICED A PUDDLE OF FUEL UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE FUEL LINE. THE FUEL LINE WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FUEL LINE WAS MADE OUT OF SOYBEAN AND THE SQUIRRELS CHEWED IT, WHICH CAUSED A CONTINUOUS LEAK FROM THE FUEL LINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON THIS WELL KNOWN PROBLEM OF THIS PART CREATING A WILD HORSE VEHICLE AT UNEXPECTED TIMES. SO FAR GM IS NOT HELPING, THE LAST VISIT WAS CONFIRMED THIS PUMP WAS THE PROBLEM AND A NEW PUMP. WAS NOT MADE AND GM ONLY OFFERS A OVERHAULED UNIT. THE CURRENT PUMP IS A ON GOING PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE CUTTING OFF AND AT TIMES TURNING INTO A FULL THROTTLE. STANADYNE THE COMPANY MAKING THE PUMP IS IN DENIAL THE PUMP DOES THIS. I HAVE TALKED WITH OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. I HESITATE PUTTING ANYTHING USED ON THIS VEHICLE, THIS PROBLEM PART IS STILL MANUFACTURED NEW BY STANADYN CORP. I KNOW FOR A FACT THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP REPEATEDLY TO GM AND NATIONAL HIGHWAY SAFETY DIVISION. FORGET ANY MONEY FOR THE PROBLEM, AND THE IGNORANCE OF THIS FACTUAL PROBLEM, I WOULD JUST LIKE A SAFE VEHICLE WITH OUT ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS THAT GO BAD. *TR

WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTO MOBILE ACCIDENT HITTING A SCHOOL BUS HEAD ON AND HIT BY A TRUCK IN THE PASSENGER'S SIDE BED OF TRUCK, GOING ABOUT 40 MILES AN HOUR. MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND I HIT MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL VERY HARD. I BELIEVE IF THE AIRBAG AND SEATBELT HAD WORKED PROPERLY, I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN INJURED SO BAD. BECAUSE OF THE BURNING IN MY LEGS, BADLY BRUISED RIBS. ETC., THEY DID NOT DO ANY EEGS. I HAVE HAD A VARIETY OF PROBLEMS FROM SEVERE HEADACHES TO UNCONTROLLABLE MOODSWINGS. I AM HOPING YOU DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS FROM EXPERIENCING WHAT I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH; LIKE BEING DISABLED FROM WORK AT THE AGE OF 38. GM 6.5L DIESEL 94-2000. THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP FUEL SOLENOID DRIVER FAILS WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING LOSS OF ENGINE POWER/POWER STEERING/AND BRAKES. A RECENT FAILURE WHILE TOWING A 7500 TRAILER CAUSED A NEAR ACCIDENT WHILE ON A CURVE DUE TO THE EXTREME DIFFICULTY IN STEERING WHINE THIS OCCURS. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM.
