2026 GENESIS G80 Forward Collision Avoidance Automatic Emergency Braking Problems

While driving at highway speeds (55–73 mph), the vehicle has repeatedly and unexpectedly applied the brakes on its own and on at least one occasion experienced a loss of power. These events occurred without any vehicles, pedestrians, or obstacles present, and without any driver input. Road and weather conditions did not warrant braking. On multiple occasions, the vehicle suddenly decelerated while adaptive cruise control was engaged, then immediately re-accelerated back to the set speed. This created a serious risk of being rear-ended or involved in a high-speed collision. On one occasion, the vehicle experienced a loss of power while driving at highway speed, requiring immediate driver intervention to avoid a dangerous situation. These incidents make the vehicle feel unpredictable and unsafe to operate as intended.
