There was a fire that was created with the factory installed wiring that initiated at the shore power connection where one of the 50 amp wires was loose, heated up, melted the surrounding area and started a fire.
The contact owns a 2022 Forest River Rockwood Trailer. The contact stated that upon purchase of the trailer; several, exposed electrical wires were left hanging from underneath the trailer. The contact also stated that the electrical winch that raised the canopy would remain active. The contact expressed concern that if the winch were to be hit from the outside the trailer, severe damage could be caused to the trailer. The manufacturer had been notified about the failure but had offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 0.
