Defect: FOREST RIVER IS RECALLING CERTAIN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH DIMPLEX ELECTRAFLAME, SYMPHONY, OR OPTIFLAME BRANDED ELECTRIC FIREPLACES, STOVES, AND FIREPLACE INSERTS. THE PLUG IN REMOTE CONTROL RECEIVER FOR THE FIREPLACE CAN OVERHEAT.

Consequence: AN OVERHEATED RECEIVER COULD CAUSE A FIRE.

Defect: NAVISTAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR MY 2001-2008 WORKHORSE W20, W21 AND W22 CHASSIS AND CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 THROUGH 2011 MONACO RV ADMIRAL, ARISTA, MONARCH, AND RIPTIDE RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AXLES THAT INCLUDE BOSCH ZOPS OR ZOHT PIN SLIDE HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES. WHEN COMBINED WITH OCCASIONAL OR SEASONAL VEHICLE OPERATION MAY EXPERIENCE CALIPERS STICKING IN THE APPLIED POSITION....

Consequence: THE TEMPERATURE INCREASE AT THE WHEEL END CAN EVENTUALLY LEAD TO SOFT PEDAL CONDITIONS DUE TO BRAKE FLUID BOIL, AND POSSIBLE EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Defect: CERTAIN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR, MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION, MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BOILER TUBE. PRESSURIZED COOLANT SOLUTION COULD BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.

Consequence: RELEASE OF COOLANT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS COULD IGNITE AND RESULT IN A FIRE.

Defect: CERTAIN MOTOR HOME CHASSIS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 105, "HYDRAULIC AND ELECTRIC BRAKE SYSTEMS." THE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR MAY NOT FUNCTION AS REQUIRED BY STANDARD.

Consequence: IN SOME OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR WILL NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE IGNITION IS IN THE START POSITION OR FOR A LOW BRAKE FLUID CONDITION, IF THE BODY BUILDER RELIED SOLELY UPON FORD'S IVM COMPLIANCE STATEMENT FOR THE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE BRAKE WARNING LAMP CIRCUIT. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FOREST RIVER AT 1-574-389-4600.

Recall 02V296000 — EXTERIOR LIGHTING:FOG LIGHTS:SWITCH

Defect: ON CERTAIN CLASS A MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON EITHER A FORD OR WORKHORSE CHASSIS, THE POWER FEED FOR THE FOG LAMPS MAY HAVE BEEN MIS-WIRED.

Consequence: NORMAL USE OF THE FOG LIGHTS COULD CAUSE THE DIODE IN THE RADIO CIRCUIT TO OVERHEAT AND POSSIBLY CAUSE A FIRE. OWNERS ARE ASKED TO NOT USE THE FOG LIGHTS UNTIL THIS SITUATION IS CORRECTED. ALTHOUGH THE GEORGETOWN MOTOR HOMES WERE NOT EQUIPPED WITH FOG LIGHTS, THE WIRING FOR THE FOG LIGHTS IS IN THE DASH HARNESS, AND THEREFORE, CONTAINS THE DEFECT.

On [XXX] while driving down [XXX] in Jacksonville Fl my living room/dinning room slide fully extended. No prior warning was given. after getting to the side of the road we called a mobile rv tech. He checked everything and found a code for the parking brake not set. Going down the road it would not be set. We found a way to over ride the slide and get it back in. We left the power to both slides unplugged so it could not happen again. After arriving at our destination we plugged the slides back in and they worked fine. After a couple of hours the slide that gave the problem retracted all by itself. Lucky there was no one inside and nothing was in the way so no damage was done. At 5:00 AM the slide fully extended again while we were in bed. I got up and unplugged it again. I have contacted Forest River, Lippert, and Percision Circuits to try to get help and answers to this problem. No one has been able to help as of yet 1-14-2025. We have had to mobile techs look at the problem at a total cost of $685.00 out of pocket and still haven't figured anything out. We could have had a very serious accident causing harm or death to us or other travelers when that slide came out. While I was driving the motorhome on a narrow highway pulled over as soon as i came to a exit when the check engine light started flashing. I immediately pulled over as soon as it was safe and the code read failure on #1 fuel injector. I pulled into a campground and had the motorhome towed to a repair garage since it was not driveable the engine had a knock and did not want to do any damage to the engine . After getting it diagnosed it now needs a new engine the failed fuel injector caused sever damage to the piston. The motorhome only has 29,000 miles on the engine. This stranded me 2000 miles from home. After doing research I found that the Ford V-10 triton engine has a history of faulty injectors. The mechanic said that the engine damage was caused by a injector stuck open.

WHILE DRIVING MY RV TO CAMPING WORLD TO HAVE MY STABILIZING JACKS REPAIRED I NOTICE A DRAG. I STOPPED AND CHECKED BUT DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING AT THE TIME. I CONTINUED TO CAMPING WORLD AND AS I TURNED INTO THERE PARKING LOT I HAD ALL I COULD TO STOP MY RV BEFORE HITTING ANYTHING. WHEN I GOT OUT 3 OF MY WHEEL RIMS WERE HOT AND YOU COULD SMELL THEM. I TOLD THE SERVICE PERSONNEL AND THEY AGREED. IN FACT WHEN THEY DROVE IT AROUND TO THE SERVICE AREA THEY HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP IT BEFORE HITTING A WALL. AFTER FIXING MY JACKS I HAD TO HAVE MY UNIT TOWED TO A PLACE TO FIX THE BRAKES, SINCE THIS CAMPING WORLD WAS NEW AND DID NOT HAVE THE FACILITY FOR BRAKES YET. AT THE NEW FACILITY AFTER INSPECTING SAID 3 OF THE 4 BRAKES, CALIPERS HAD TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH OTHER BRAKE PROBLEMS. AND THAT I WAS LUCKY NOT TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT!!! I RECENTLY EXPERIENCED (09/03/04) CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF TWO CARLISLE TIRES (ABOUT 80 MILES BETWEEN FAILURES) ON MY TRAVEL TRAILER. THE TRAILER WAS PURCHASED NEW ON 09/14/01 (FLAGSTAFF SUPERLITE 25 LD) AND THE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,000 MILES. I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FIRST FAILURE (CURB SIDE REAR) UNTIL I STOPPED FOR GAS. ALL THAT WAS LEFT OF THE TIRE ON THE WHEEL WAS THE TWO SIDE WALLS. FORTUNATELY THE FRONT TIRE ON THE CURB SIDE DID NOT FAIL. WE INSTALLED THE SPARE TIRE AND CONTINUED. ABOUT 80 MILES FARTHER THE FRONT TIRE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FAILED IN THE SAME MANNER. I RETRIEVED A CHUNK OF THE TIRE TREAD FROM THE HIGHWAY. LATER I FOUND ANOTHER PIECE UNDER THE BATH TUB. THE DAMAGE TO THE TRAILER WAS REPAIRED FOR $142.13 (NEW INNER FENDER $49.95, NEW TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR LICENSE PLATE $12.18, REPLACEMENT PLATE $5.00 AND LABOR $75.00). WITH TWO FAILURES WITHIN 100 MILES, WE DECIDED TO REPLACE ALL FIVE TIRES. THE FAILED TIRES WERE CARLISLE RADIAL ST, ST175/80R13 LOAD RANGE C. OTHER NUMBERS ON THE SIDE WALL OF THE SPARE TIRE WHICH I KEPT UNMOUNTED ARE: CR9579-2, AND DRCD80-A-EFS. I PHONED CARLISLE TIRE AND TOLD MY STORY TO THEIR SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. SHE SAID THE TIRE WARRANTY WAS FOR TWO YEARS. I SAID I WAS UNHAPPY WITH CARLISLE TIRES AND THE FACT THAT THEIR CATASTROPHIC FAILURE DAMAGED MY TRAILER. SHE SAID SHE HAD NOTED THE TIRE TYPE AND SIZE THAT FAILED. SHE DID NOT TAKE ANY OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. *NM
