The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) on the Federal placard may exceed the safety chain rating. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 110, "Tire Selection and Rims" and 120, "Wheels...
Consequence: An incorrect weight rating may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Coachmen Catalina, and 2021-2022 Forest River Aurora travel trailers. The breakaway switch may be incorrectly wired to the battery disconnect, which can prevent the trailer brakes from activating as intended.
Consequence: Trailer brakes that fail to activate can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and re-wire the breakaway switch, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 2, 2022. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-6241. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-1529.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V477000 (Electrical System) however, the contact cannot move the RV due to not having a truck powerful enough to tow the RV to a dealer to have the recall repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer was not being reasonable about making accommodations to repair the RV. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue.
