Defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS, BUS CHASSIS-COWL, AND BASIC CHASSIS MODELS EQUIPPED WITH CUMMINS 5.9L 160 HORSEPOWER ROTARY INJECTION PUMP DIESEL ENGINES. THE ACCELERATOR RETURN SPRINGS CAN FRACTURE.

Consequence: THE ACCELERATOR MAY NOT RETURN TO IDLE INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THESE SPRINGS WITH A TORSION SPRING DESIGN.
