I WOULD LIKE HELP REGARDING NHSTA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 95V138000 REFERENCING THE PROBLEM WITH THE SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER READING. THIS IDENTIFIED FORD MUSTANGS (1995) MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JULY 94 - JAN. 95. THE SUMMARY STATED "THESE VEHICLES WERE BUILT WITH SPEEDOMETERS REGISTERING SPPED IN MPH BUT THE ODOMETERS INDICATING DISTANCE IN KILOMETERS. THE ODOMETERS WERE INTENDED TO INDICATE DISTANCE IN MILES AND WERE NOT IDENTIFIED WITH THE METRIC 'KM' DESIGNATION. THIS DOES NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS NO. 101, CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS." THE END RESULT WAS THAT FORD DID NOT HAVE TO RECALL THE CARS OR NOTIFY THE OWNERS AS THE NONCOMPLIANCE DID NOT CREATE AN UNREASONABLE RISK TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY. MY PROBLEM IS THIS. IF THE MILES REGISTERED ON THE ODOMETER ARE ACTUALLY IN KILOMETERS THAN A VEHICLE THAT SHOWS 77500 ACTUALLY ONLY HAS 47845 MILES (77500 MULTIPLIED TIMES A KILOMETER 0.62137).
