I had my car running while I ran into the store, when I got back in the car I had a “Shift System Fault” error and I could not move my car. I had to have Ford Tow the truck back to its dealership. It is currently at the Ford dealership getting repaired
2025 2.0l Maverick 8f-35 auto trans. on cold start after sitting overnight transmission hesitates to engage and/or shifts harshly on 1st drive of the day so far. Most noticeable on 1-2 upshift. Feels like engine rpm flares or transmission skips before changing gear. Conditions repeat almost daily on first drive from cold start. I am concerned about long-term transmission damage and safety when pulling into traffic. I'm aware this and other issues have been acknowledged by Ford in prior TSBs-the same 8f-35 transmission has rough shifting in 2022-2024 documented by programs like 22B38 and 25-2127. Dealer stated after visit that no problem found and had "never heard of a Maverick doing this". there is under 700 miles on the vehicle.
