Car has intermittent electrical issue that causes ECUs to reboot often times disabling safety systems such as ABS, Airbags, Collision Avoidance, Adaptive Cruise Control, power steering and power brakes. Ford dealer believes that it's a short in a wiring harness. They claim this issue has been seen in several vehicles like mine. Ford was able to reproduce the problem and recommends replacement of a wiring harness ($4k). To date, I have not had an accident, but do not feel safe driving the vehicle if the airbags and other safety systems become inoperable. Yes, all of the dashboard lights come on when this issue occurs - technician states that the whole computer system gets taken down. That's very uncomfortable when you are traveling at highway speed and no longer have safety system. Steering and braking do get impacted but are not inoperable. I can provide videos of the dashboard when these...
My 2016 Fusion Hybrid SE. All SYNC related functions ceased to function . Cant use bluetooth. cant do voice commands. USB is not working and not charging. Radio works fine, but phone button does nothing; menu button does nothing; voice command button on steering wheel does nothing. This is a safety hazard and I know I'm not the only one having this issue.
I drove the vehicle 2 miles to a nearby shopping center. I came out 15 minutes later and tried to start the car. Immediately flashing on the console was a large yellow wrench, message telling me to stop the vehicle immediately, pull over, errors with steering system, errors with side impact system and various other errors flashed. I tried to put the car in drive and it automatically went back into Accessory mode and flashed the same error messages telling me to stop driving. The steering was locked and unable to steer. Had it towed to the Ford dealer. They let it sit for 4 hours and then called to say they could see no issue as it started just fine. The next day they called and said they saw the issue 3 different times and saw communication errors in the car computer. They cleared the errors and let it...
MY TRUNK KEPT POPPING OPEN ONCE IN A WHILE. I FINALLY LEFT MY KEY FOB A LONG WAY FROM THE VEHICLE AND IT STILL POPPED OPEN. I EAT MY LUNCH IN MY CAR AT WORK AND I WAS SITTING THERE AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE TRUNK POPPED OPEN BY ITSELF AND THEN I HEARD THE DOOR LOCKS CLICK OPEN. SO I DECIDED WHEN I FINISHED MY LUNCH TO LOCK IT UP AND PUT MY KEYS BACK IN MY OFFICE. LATER I WALKED OUT BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD ME MY TRUNK WAS OPEN. NOT ONLY WAS MY TRUNK WIDE OPEN BUT MY DOOR WAS UNLOCKED. I WAS HOME ONE DAY AND WE HAD TEMPERATURES IN THE 80'S THAT DAY AND THE CAR WAS WIGGING OUT. THE KEY PAD ON THE SIDE WAS LIGHTING UP AND FADING OUT AND THE TRUNK WAS CLICKING LIKE CRAZY (IT WAS ALREADY IN THE OPEN POSITION)...
RECEIVE ERROR "TEMPORARILY LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE CLIMATE SYSTEM". UNABLE TO OPERATE THE CLIMATE SYSTEM, WINDOWS, DOOR LOCKS AND RADIO VOLUME. THIS OCCURS FREQUENTLY AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN, ESPECIALLY IN HOT WEATHER UNABLE TO OPERATE WINDOWS OR AC.
THE CAR DIES IN DRIVE AND IN PARK AND REVERSE AND WON'T LET YOU PUT IT IN GEAR, WE HAVE IT ON VIDEO AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARS BUT WHEN YOU TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF AND DOES NOT KEEP A CODE. WE HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG BECAUSE IT WON'T KEEP THE CODE. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN , 6,000 MILES ON IT AND WE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. WE FEEL VERY UNSAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. WE HAVE CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND IT SEEMS LIKE WE ARE GETTING THE RUN AROUND. IJTS HAPPENED ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS IT STARTED IN JULY THEN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER.
