TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD F-250 EQUIPPED WITH BF GOODRICH ALL TERRAIN KO TIRES, SIZE: 265/75/16. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOW OUT. THE TIRE WAS RETURNED TO THE MANUFACTURER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER (DISCOUNT TIRE, 11881 MAGNOLIAM AVE, RIVERSIDE, CA) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN, DOT NUMBER, AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD F-250 EQUIPPED WITH FEDERAL COURAGIA A/T TIRES, SIZE 285/75/R16 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE WEARING OUT FASTER THAN NORMAL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RETURN THE CONTACT'S CALL. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
TIRE FAILURE
I HAD LT265/75R16 BF GOODRICH TIRES ON MY TRUCK, WITH ONLY APPROX. 12,000 MILES ON THEM, THE TRUCK DOES NOT GET DRIVEN BUT ONCE A WEEK. TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE PASSENGER FRONT TIRE EXPLODED. I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE TRUCK AND GET IT OFF THE ROAD WITHOUT HITTING ANYONE. BUT MY TRUCK SUSTAINED $3800.00 IN DAMAGE. I FILED CLAIM WITH MICHELIN AND SENT THEM THE TIRE, THEY DENIED THE CLAIM THAT I MUST HAVE HIT SOMETHING VERY HARD AND THAT CAUSED THE TIRE TO SPLIT ON THE INSIDE LINING WHICH THEN CAUSED THE BLOW OUT. I HAVE NEVER HIT ANYTHING AND I TRAVEL THE SAME TWO ROADS ALL THE TIME WITH BOTH MY VEHICLES SO I KNOW I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING. SECONDLY THESE ARE "ROUGH TERRAIN" TIRES SO EVEN IF I DID HIT SOMETHING THEY SHOULD HAVE NOT SPLIT. MICHELIN IS VERY LUCKY THAT I HAD...
ON 10/11/14 WE WERE TRAVELING FROM OUR HOME IN HAVELOCK, NC TO THE CHARLOTTE AREA. WITH ABOUT 20 MINUTES INTO THE TRIP WE FELT A VIOLENT VIBRATION AND THEN THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE BLEW! MIRACULOUSLY, MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO PULL HIS FORD F-250 PICKUP TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS HURT! THE TIRE WAS FLAT WITH MUCH OF THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE. ALSO, SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE WAS CAUSED TO THE WHEEL WELL OF THE TRUCK BECAUSE OF THE BLOWOUT. AFTER HAVING ALLSTATE MOTOR CLUB COME AND ASSIST US, AND REPLACE THE BLOWOUT, WE WERE ON OUR ROAD AGAIN. THREE DAYS LATER ON OCTOBER 14TH WE WERE HEADED BACK TO HAVELOCK WHEN ONCE AGAIN THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. MY HUSBAND MADE IT TO MY BROTHER-IN-LAWS DRIVEWAY, GOT OUT AND NOTICED THE FRONT PASSENGERS TIRE HAD A MAJOR BUBBLE IN IT. WE ALMOST...

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD F-250 EQUIPPED WITH DEFINITY TIRES A/T 33 12.5R 16.5. THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING 65 MPH WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE FRONT PASSENGER TO RECEIVE INJURIES TO HIS LOWER BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED A REPAIR SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 144,000. ....UPDATED 08-24-12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED IN APRIL 2011. IN BOTH CASES, THE TREAD PEELED AWAY FROM THE TIRE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD 250 WITH GENERAL GRABBER AT2 TIRES; SIZE 235/85/16. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DRIFT ACROSS THE ROADWAY. HE THEN DRIVER REDUCED THE VEHICLES SPEED TO 50 MPH. AFTER TWO NEW TIRES WERE MOUNTED ON THE VEHICLE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TIRES AT THIS TIME HAVE NOT BEEN DETERMINED AS THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE STEERING ASSEMBLY WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,681. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD F250. THE VEHICLE HAS REPLACEMENT FTS YKS TIRES THAT WERE PURCHASED ON OCTOBER 27, 2004. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES ARE OUT OF ROUND AND THAT HE RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE NUMBER 07T003000 (TIRE:TREAD/BELT) ON JULY 26, 2007. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 40,282.
THIS IS THE SECOND GOODYEAR WRANGLER (KEVLAR) TIRE THAT HAS BLOWN OUT COMPLETELY WITH IN A YEAR. THE FIRST TIME A MESQUITE THORN CAUSED THE ENTIRE SIDE TO BLOW OUT; LAST WEEK IT WAS A LITTLE ROCK THAT CAUSED SEPARATION AND BLOW OUT AGAIN. FOR AS MUCH AS THESE TIRES COST THEY ARE A DANGER WHEN A LITTLE THING LIKE A THORN OR ROCK CAUSES A COMPLETE SEPARATION. DISCOUNT TIRE EVEN SAID THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A SEPARATION. *JB
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW UNIROYAL LAREDO TIRE NEAR AUSTIN, TEXAS AT AN NTB STORE. THE NTB STORE PUT THE TIRE ON THE RIGHT FRONT OF MY 2003 FORD F-250. WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF LEAVING THE NTB STORE, THE TIRE CATASTROPHICALLY FAILED AND I WAS BARELY ABLE TO BRING MY TRUCK (PULLING A LARGE GOOSENECK TRAILER) UNDER CONTROL ON I-35. THE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS NOT ONLY FOR ME, BUT FOR MANY OF THE OTHER PEOPLE DRIVING ON I-35, AS VEHICLES HAD TO QUICKLY MOVE OUT OF MY WAY AS MY TRUCK WAS DRAGGED ACROSS AT LEAST ONE LANE OF TRAVEL, THE SHOULDER AND INTO THE GRASS ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. AFTERWARDS, THE ENTIRE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE WAS FOUND TO HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF THE TIRE AND MY WHEEL WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. CLEARLY, THIS TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE IN ITS MANUFACTURER. *JB
CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING NOTICED VIBRATION. VEHICLE WAS SERVICED, TECHNICIAN CHANGED RIM, BUT TIRES STILL HAVE PROBLEMS.*AK TECHNICIAN PUT FOUR MICHELIN TIRE ON THE VEHICLE. VIBRATION CONTINUED TO EXIST. CONSUMER DON'T THINK ITS THE TIRES, SHE BELIEVES IT'S SOMETHING MAJOR LIKE THE DRIVESHAFT. *PH
THE VEHICLE SHAKES REALLY BADLY WHICH MAKES IT HARD TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER STATING THAT TIRES WERE OUTSIDE THE ROAD FORCE SPECIFICATIONS. *AK
