The Belt in the tire separated while driving. This caused a "Bubble" to form causing my truck to shake violently and required changing to the spare tire. If this happened on the highway I could have lost control and caused an accident. I took my truck to a tire installer who documented the above finding and noted the tire was properly inflated and there were no impact marks on the tread or sidewalls. I am currently working with the supplier but they are being unreasonable with the requirements to have it inspected. No other reps have been contacted at this time. TL THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-250 EQUIPPED TRAILERED TO 2019 FOREST RIVER EAST TO WEST TRAVEL TRAILER EQUIPPED WITH TBC BRAND LLC TIRES, TIRE LINE: TRAILER KING, TIRE SIZE: ST225/75R15, DOT NUMBER: 1ADB4HFT1). THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND PLACED THE SPARE ONTO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ABOUT 15 MINUTES LATER, APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES LATER, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE ALSO EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH NEW TIRES. THE CONTACT CONTACTED CAMPERS INN RV OF MACON - BYRON (125 PEACHTREE PKWY, BYRON, GA 31008, (478) 956-6111) AND WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT REPAIRABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 221,000 ON THE VEHICLE AND 1,000 ON THE TIRES...

I FILED A CLAIM WITH MICHELIN NORTH AMERICA, INC (MICHELIN), THAT WAS DENIED, FOR DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF $3,000.00 INCURRED BY MY PERSONAL VEHICLE RESULTING FROM THE COMPLETE TREAD DETACHMENT OF A UNIROYAL LAREDO TIRE (DOT# BFW8FEUU4107), AFTER 13,586 MILES. DETACHMENT OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEED (65MPH) WITH PROPER INFLATION PRESSURE, CHECKED PRIOR TO BEGINNING OF TRAVEL. PRIOR TO COMPLETE TREAD DETACHMENT, THE SUBJECT TIRE WAS REPAIRED FOR DAMAGE INCURRED BY A COMMON ROAD HAZARD (I.E., A NAIL PUNCTURE). THIS, THE TIRE?S ONLY, REPAIR WAS PERFORMED BY A REPUTABLE SERVICE CENTER IN ACCORDANCE WITH GUIDELINES SET BY US DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. MICHELIN DOES NOT CALL INTO QUESTION TIRE REPAIR AS THE CAUSAL FACTOR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F250 EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER LT TIRES, SIZE: 265/75R16. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 65 MPH WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE EXPLODED. THE FAILURE CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND FENDER. THE CONTACT REMOVED THE FAILED TIRE AND INSTALLED THE SPARE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THAT THE TIRES COULD BE RETURNED TO WHERE THE CONTACT HAD PURCHASED THEM, AND THEY WOULD FORWARD THEM TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DT COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS WOBLING. PULLED OVER, THERE WAS A CHUNK OF TIRE MISSING. CONTACTED THE SHOP WHERE HE PURCHASED THE TIRES ,AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE TIRESL. FOUND OUT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION SUITE. THESE WERE COOPER DISCOVER HT TIRES. THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE A LOST THE TREAD, DID DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, IT WRAPPED AROUND THE AXLE. TORE OUT THE MUD FLAP IT FLUG AND SCRAPED OUT THE WHOLE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE FIRESTONE PROBLEM, I NEEDED NEW TIRES ~40K. I WENT TO GOODYEAR, THEY DIDN'T HAVE AN "E" RANGE TIRE IN THIS SIZE SO THEY PUT "D" LOAD RNAGE TIRES ON. AFTER 5000 MILES, FIRST ROTATION, THERE WERE BUBBLES ON ALL FOUR TIRES. THEY REPLACED THEM UNDER WARRANTY. AT THAT TIME THEY START TO OFFER "E" SO I SWITCHED TO "E" RANGE. AFTER 5000 MILES THEY STARTED TO DEVELOP A VIBRATION, LIKE AN OUT OF BALANCE PROBLEM. I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO TAKE THEM IN BEFORE THE NEXT ROTATION WAS DUE. THE RIGHT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT WHILE PULLING MY BOAT DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN NEW YORK. I LOST CONTROL WHEN IT GOT DOWN ON THE RIM AND THE BOAT JACKKNIFED. IT SPUN OUT OF CONTROL INTO THE MEDIAN. WE FIRST NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT REAR TIRE HAD A CRATER LIKE CRACK BETWEEN ONE TREAD. THE CRACK WAS ABOUT 3" LONG. WE THEN INSPECTED THE REST OF THE TIRE. WE FOUND SMALLER CRACKS ALL AROUND THE TIRE AND INBETWEEN OTHER TREADS. WE INSPECTED THE OTHER TIRES AND FOUND THAT ALL THE TIRES HAD SMALL CRACKS INBETWEEN THE TREADS, THEY WERE NOT AS BIG AS THE LEFT REAR, BUT THEY WERE ALL AROUND THE TIRES. THE CRACKS IN THE OTHER 3 TIRES RANDGED FROM ABOUT 1/8" TO 1/2" IN LENGTH. WE CONTACTED OUR FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THIS WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. WE THEN CONTACTED A FIRESTONE DEALER IN OUR AREA AND BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN FOR INSPECTION. THEY SAID THE TIRES SHOWED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES WITH THE SAME TIRES. I WOULD NOT HAVE CONSIDERED CONTACT HAD NOT THE OTHER FIRESTONE TIRES SHOWN A PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE CAME WITH THE FIRESTONE STEELTEX R4S TIRES. I CHANGED THEM AFTER ABOUT 18000 MILES BECAUSE THEY WERE SO SCARY ON WET PAVEMENT OR SNOW. SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN TOLD FIRESTONE USED TOO HARD A COMPOUND IN ORDER TO GET EXTRA MILEAGE. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH MY FORD AGENCY AND NOTICED THE MODEL TYPE FOR THAT TIRE IS NO LONGER THE R4S. NO DAMAGE OR INJURY RESULTED ALTHOUGH SEVERAL AMUSEMENT PARK RIDES RESULTED, EACH OCCURING WITH DIFFERENT DRIVERS.

SINCE I COULD NOT STOP ON BRIDGE SAFELY, I SLOWED SPEED AND WAS "SHEPHERDED" TO END OF BRIDGE BY A ANONYMOUS SEMI-TRUCK DRIVER WHO SAW THE TIRE FALLING APART.
