TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 FORD AEROSTAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GROUND WIRES ARE SHORTING OUT THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND OTHER WIRES UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD. HE ALSO STATED THAT HIS WINDOWS ARE NOT WORKING. FORD STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE BECAUSE HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAS BEEN BURNED BY THE FAILED WIRES. THE RECALL # WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 171,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE STEERING COLUMN AREA DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. *AK *ML
WIRING HARNESS IGNITED BY SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION, RESULTING IN A FIRE/BRAKE ROTORS CONTINUOUSLY WARP, AND AIR CONDITIONER FAILED TWICE.

WHEN TRYING TO CUT THE VEHICLE OFF THE KEY WILL NOT TURN BACK TO THE LOCK POSITION. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED. THE TRANSMISSION MODULES AND THE WIRING HARNESS WERE BURNT. CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THEY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL #97V204000. *AK
OWNER STATES THAT VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE AND THAT FIRE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. OWNER FURTHER NOTES THAT DASHBOARD WAS IN FLAMES. *AK
