Defect: Meritor, Inc. is recalling certain wheel ends for drive axles with ConMet PreSet Plus Hubs manufactured August 2012 and December 2012. Due to a missing locking snap ring on the axle hub, the rear wheels may separate from the vehicle.
Consequence: Wheel separation from the vehicle increases the risk of a crash.

Consequence: REDUCED BRAKE PERFORMANCE MAY LEAD TO A VEHICLE CRASH.

Consequence: IF THE INLET OR OUTLET SECTIONS DISCONNECT, HOT EXHAUST GASES CAN VENT PRIOR TO EXITING THE TAILPIPE, CREATING THE RISK OF COMBUSTION AND A FIRE. IF BOTH CLAMPS FAIL, THERE IS A RISK IN SOME APPLICATIONS THAT THE DOC/DPF HOUSING MAY DETACH COMPLETELY, CREATING A ROAD HAZARD.
