DRIVING DOWN ROAD AND HOOD FLEW OPEN ON MY 2001 DODGE 2500. HOOD AND LATCHES BENT BACK OBSTRUCTING VIEW COMPLETELY. TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT ON A USUALLY BUSY ROAD WHICH PREVENTED FURTHER PROBLEMS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 DODGE RAM 2500. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE HOOD LATCH FAILED. AS A RESULT, THE HOOD FLEW BACKWARDS AND NEARLY SHATTERED THE WINDSHIELD. THE DEALER STATED THAT HE MAY NOT HAVE CLOSED THE LATCH PROPERLY; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DISAGREES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
MY HOOD WAS NOT LATCHED FULLY @THE LOCAL DEALER AFTER SERVICE. I PROCEEDED ONTO HIGHWAY AND IT POPPED OPEN....SECONDARY LATCH DIDN'T CATCH IT PROPERLY. *TR
