I CONTACTED YOU 12/04/15 CONCERNING BRAKES ON THIS TRUCK AND I ALSO TOLD YOU THAT EVERY TIME I WOULD TRY AN DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH EFIRD CHRYSLER FLORENCE, SC THEY WOULD TELL ME THE BRAKES ARE ANTILOCK SYSTEM AND IT WAS NORMAL FOR THEM TO MAKE NOISE WHEN APPLIED FOR EMERGENCY STOPPING. I TOOK THIS TRUCK BACK 12-10-15 AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE NEAR ACCIDENT MY WIFE AND I HAD ON 12-01-15 MAKING AN EMERGENCY STOP. THIS TRUCK (TRAVELED 15FT.) AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKES BEFORE IT STARTED BRAKING TO STOP THIS VEHICLE AND WE WERE 3FT. AWAY FROM MAKING CONTACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. NOW TO ME THIS IS SERIOUS AND WE ARE AFRAID OF THIS VEHICLE IN EMERGENCY STOPS. IT HAS HAD POOR STOPPING BEFORE BUT NEVER LIKE THIS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DAKOTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, A LOUD GRINDING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE REAR AXLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN TIGHTENED THE LOOSE REAR AXLE PINION NUT. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 13V038000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR REMAINED UNAVAILABLE AND A TEMPORARY REMEDY WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE AN EXPECTED DATE FOR THE REMEDY PART TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
