DT: THE CONTACT STATED THE LOCAL DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED REFUSED TO DO THE RECALL WORK (04V357000). THE MANUFACTURER WILL ONLY RESPOND BY STATING TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM. THE CONTACT IS TRYING TO GET THE RECALL WORK DONE ON THEIR VEHICLE.
2001 DAEWOO LANOS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND BLACK SMOKE WAS COMING FROM TAIL PIPE. *KB THE VALVE COVER GASKET WAS REPLACED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD A STRONG EXHAUST SMELL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 45 MPH. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON A SENSOR FOR THE ENGINE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE APPROVED DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS, THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE PART FREE OF CHARGE. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THE PART NUMBER OF THE SENSOR ON THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED FOR THIS RECALL. THE CONSUMER DECLINED THE REPAIR. UPDATED 07/11/06. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THERE IS CURRENTLY NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR HOWEVER A RECALL LETTER WAS RECEIVED, RECALL # 04V357000 REGARDING THE ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. THE CONTACT HAS ATTEMPTED TO ALERT THE MANUFACTURER SINCE MAY 29TH WITHOUT A RETURN PHONE CALL. A DEALERSHIP WAS ALERTED HOWEVER THEY WILL NOT MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS UNTIL THE CONTACT SPEAKS WITH THE MANUFACTURER. ALSO, THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AT VARIOUS SPEEDS.
MALFUNCTION CONCERNING CAM SHAFT POSITION SENOR IN DAEWOO. *BF A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR THE SENSOR, HOWEVER THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. *JB
THE CAR I HAD WAS A DAEWOO LANOS. DIDNT HAVE AIR BAGS,BRAKES FAILING,ENGINE MALFUNCTION,TRANMISSION FAILED,IF I GIVE IT GAS IT WOULD STAND STILL,POOR QUALITY TIRES,JUST AFTER A 2 MONTHS THE CAR WAS BEING TAKEN TO THE AUTO SHOP MANY TIMES UNTIL I WAS TOLD THE COMP WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND WAS TOLD NOT TO COME BACK BECAUSE FIXING THE CAR WOULD COST ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. CAR EVENTUALLY STOPPED RUNNING DUE TO CAR MEMORY SHUT DOWN AS TOLD BY A MECHANIC.BRAKES REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES,TIRES REPLACED TWICE,AIRBAGS WERE NEVER PUT IN.*AK
