2022 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER Engine Problems

Purge pump failure at 33442 miles, should be included in customer satisfaction program #N242484740. Dealership denied it.

Vehicle experiences intermittent loss of acceleration at highway speeds. While driving at highway speed or going uphill, up ramp, down hill, down ramp the engine loses power and enters reduce power mode, making it difficult or impossible to maintain speed or safely merge with traffic. The issue is unpredictable and has occurred despite prior repair attempts. Vehicle is covered under a GM special turbo warranty for a known defect. Warranty came out Oct 2022, Due to the loss of power the vehicle is unsafe to operate and is currently at the dealer.

The three bolts at the flange attaching the muffler to the upper muffler sheared off due to rust and the whole rear muffler fell off when driving the car on an interstate. Car is 3 years old and at the time had 65,000 miles. The bolts used are of poor quality, and to make matters worse, there is no exhaust hanger near this flange so the muffler is supported at the front by just this flange. Poorly designed by GM.

The exhaust and muffler completely detached from the catalytic converter/exhaust manifold while driving down the road. If we were driving at a higher rate of speed, the exhaust pipe could've caught on any imperfection on the roadway and shot the rear end of the vehicle up and then potentially caused an accident/death. This has happened to many I have discovered upon further research and is a common problem with the vehicle according to the dealership. Vehicle has been towed to the dealership to be inspected and/or repaired. Zero warning signals, lamps, or messages.

The check engine light and other error codes are on. The vehicle would run fine and then the engine would go into 1/2 power and go slow while driving. This has happened other times too. It has been in the shop and the dealership and GM do not know what is wrong with it. It has been there for almost 2 weeks.

Noise only when cold at front tire passenger side Nosie at front tire passenger side while steering. Check engine lite code PO299 Turbocharger/supercharger underboost-engine power is reduced. Replaced tire at 24600 miles. While driving at 65 mph, the forward collision avoidance system activated, and the car stopped at 65 mph. It happened 5 times that car fully stopped, and numerus time I get forward collision activated but then nothing happens. Imagine on freeway from 65 to 0 brakes by itself. Hard shifting and body shaking while accelerating. Hood is shaking while driving on freeway.

Alerting to shift to park and not turning off while vehicle is already in park

We own a 2022 Chevy Trailblazer and we have experienced the “shift to park” issue more times than we can count. We receive the “shift to park” message on the dash screen after the car has been shifted to park and we attempt to turn the vehicle off. This problem has caused me to be late to my job on numerous occasions and late to an exam that determines my graduation at school. Many users report being able to just shift through the gears a couple times or wiggling the gear shift and it shuts off, but that is not always my case. I have, on a few occasions now, had to remove my gear shift knob and panel completely, locating the park switch and manually bending it to recognize that my car was in park. “Shift to park” alert. It started after the car had 29,000 miles. It would occur occasionally but on Jan 4th of this year, I had to restart and move my car 11 times in order for the alert to be cancelled and I was able to shut off my car. I have been told there is no parts available by the dealer who has my car and they don’t know when the work will be done!

On another occasion, the contact experienced a flat tire due to a nail in the tire. While the driver side rear tire was being removed the Lug nuts and the bolts on the axle were damaged. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer stated that the CV axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 400.

Check engine light keeps coming on. Hard shifting. Takes too long for brake to engage. Fuel injector replaced. This car is only 3 months into service.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed the engine thermostat as faulty. The thermostat was replaced, and the failure was remedied. Also, while driving the vehicle would jerk and hesitate while changing gears. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. Also, while driving 27 MPH, the service brake system failure" message suddenly displayed, and the brake pedal was hard while pressed. The parking brake was activated. Moments later the message "power steering failure" displayed and the steering wheel was difficult to turn in either direction.
